You can not go Madeira without going to Pico do Arieiro. Beautiful place to hike with really stunning views. Many times you are above or in the clouds, giving some nice mood and atmosphere
Al the yellow flowers here are broom flowers.
This hat developed so quickly, it was only minutes from there not being anything to this "hat" that looked as if it was spinning. I took this from the airport just before checking in. Talk about a rush job.

Die Pico Burg (Abkürzung von St. John Baptist Fort) wurde im frühen 16. Jahrhundert gebaut als Antwort auf die Piratenüberfälle. Von hier aus haben Sie eine ausgezeichnete Sicht über Funchal. In der Burg gibt es ein kleines Museum.

The Pico Castle (abbreviation of St. John Baptist Fort) was built in the early 16th century in response to the pirate raids. From here you have an excellent view over Funchal. There is a small museum in the castle.
El Pico de Urbión se ubica en una de las Sierras más elevadas del Sistema Ibérico, concretamente la Sierra de Urbión a la que da su nombre. Es el tercer pico más alto del Sistema por detrás del Moncayo y el San Lorenzo, pero es uno de los más visitados debido a la famosa Laguna Negra, a veces confundida con la Laguna Negra de Neila.
A dairy farm sits in front of Pico do Malhāo on the Island of Terceira in the Azores, Portugal. Pico do Malhāo is one of five scoria cones (also called cinder cones) that sit inside a eroded collapsed Caldera. Name for the five cinder cones, this caldera, the Cinco Pecos Caldera, formed during a volcanic collapse about 370,000 years ago. It is the oldest volcanic complex on the island of Terceira. The caldera Itself measures about 7 x 9 km (4.3 x 5.6 miles). In this photo, a cloud covered remnant of the Caldera rim, Serra do Cume, can be seen on the horizon at the extreme right of the photo. The image was taken from atop the Serra da Riberinha which is the eroded remnant of the caldera rim on the east, The caldera is filled with basalt flows and scoria associated with post caldera eruptions that formed the 5 Picos as well as trachytic pyroclastic flows and pumice falls that originated from the volcanoes to the west. Much of the caldera floor is farmed and divided into pastures and fields by stone walls made of volcanic rock. Cattle operations seem to dominate the Island producing milk, cheese, and meat. The Azores are responsible for almost half of Portugal’s dairy production.

Der Pico do Arieiro ist mit einer Höhe von 1818 m der dritthöchste Berg Madeiras.
Este lugar posee un teleférico que salva un desnivel de 753 m con una longitud de cable de 1840 m. A la estación superior del teleférico se le llama El Cable. Allí existe un mirador sobre el valle. El trayecto se realiza en poco más de 3 minutos y medio.
Este teleférico da cierta fama a la localidad y a la comarca de Liébana, donde se encuentra, cerca de la frontera con Asturias.
Als "La Tarta del Teide" wird ein sehr hübscher Bereich unterhalb des Vulkans Pico del Teide bezeichnet, in dem dicht aufeinander Schichten von Bimsstein, Vulkanasche und anderen vulkanischen Ablagerungen folgen.
