I thought they were gone and this Saturday I was still able to enjoy this beautiful female and take some decent photos of her.
The volcano Pico on the eponymous island in the Azores, seen from a ferry at sunset. The small cone of Piquinho, marking the top, can be seen peeking through the clouds. At 2351 m Pico is the highest mountain in Portugal, as well as on the Atlantic ridge. It has erupted 3 times since the settlement of the island in the 15th Century, in 1562, 1718 and 1720.

Mount Pico (Portuguese: Montanha do Pico) is a stratovolcano and the highest mountain of Portugal, located on the island of Pico, in the mid-Atlantic archipelago of the Azores. It is situated at 2,351 metres (7,713 ft) above sea level, it is one of the highest Atlantic mountains; it is more than twice the elevation of any other peak in the Azores.

Desde la estación superior el visitante se sobrecogerá con un paisaje de inmensa belleza.
