Strawberry picking (and eating) at Getting's Garden in Sanborn, Iowa. This collage was made at Photovisi.com.
Picking a handful of ripe tomatoes off the plant in the greenhouse. There's nothing quite like home grown produce is there. :-)
Colourful display of wheelbarrows outside a shop in Colwyn Bay, Wales. Testing out the new Leica M240 camera.
My best companion for the longest time. Coffee really gives me the energy to make it through my day..
I've been playing with my stitching software. Been meaning to properly go through my Italy photos from last November and have had a little paddle tonight. This stitch is the view from the olive groves, showing how we went about picking and collecting the fruit :-)
After my Peterbilt, another car what I wanted to build was Pick Up.
it was easy to choose a color, because many black bricks left.
First I wanted do black and green with a lot green chrome bricks, but then decided change the colour for red.
I used wheels from The Boss 41999, I like those white lines and they perfectly fit with the car.
The top of this ridge burned in a fire in 2015. The fallen trees looked like a huge game of pick up sticks.
According to the owner of this produce farm, who is present in this image, there are only a few days left to pick these wonderful strawberries. He says this has been one of his best years for strawberries---but, pick-your-own numbers were down.
I was over at the farm at 6:00 am on this Saturday and people were frantically loading up berries and vegetables for the three area farm markets. Later three more trucks came and loaded up for sites in three nearby cities. These people work well together to get everything loaded and on its way.
At least four ethnic groups were represented in the 20 people picking for the owner on this day. The ages ran from teens to senior citizens. I took many portraits of the workers and had great cooperation and acceptance. The portraits are quick snaps---hey, they are working.
This is an HDR image made from five images. This helped me get the exposure that I needed.
Camera/Processing: I used my Pentax K5 and Pentax 18-135 lens to make this image. Aperture 3 and NIK Efex Pro 2 were used to post process.
Camera Settings: ISO 400, aperture f/9, shutter varied on five images, focal length 18mm

fine dining in italy with red wine!
how can people eat so much at one go?! dinner consisted of 5 courses, excluding the wine =p
first course: pizza. nice thin crust. simply cheese and tomato sauce.
second course: soup or zuppa! it's like a porridge because it's made of barley, or is it oats? light and addictive. not as savoury as other soups i've had throughout the tour but i don't know why i couldn't bring myself to stop until i went through half the bowl. but that was mainly because i was already feeling full ><"
third course: pasta! it's spaghetti with olive oil, and flavoured with herbs and chilli flakes. nice and spicy. love it! but of course, i had to make myself stop.
fourth course: main course! roasted chicken thigh with roasted potatoes. by this time i was quite up to my limit already but fine dining in italy! i couldn't give up just yet! chicken was had a crispy skin which i didn't eat but the meat was tender. flavoured with rosemary, but i knew that coz there was rosemary on my chicken when they served =p
fifth course: dessert. oh finally! it was tiramisu. the trays of tiramisu were actually all sitting behind our table for quite some time, i think from the 4th course and was being cut. this was nicer than the one in venice in my opinion. the one in venice seemed to be made from sponge but this i could tell it was lady fingers.
yay! end of dinner! and a little high on wine.
missing photographs of some courses because they were crappy. well as if these 2 aren't crappy enough.

Blueberry is very common berry in Finland and because everyman's rights principle, anybody can go and pick berries for own use. Best time to pick up berries from the nature is from late July to early October.
Mushrooms growing on the end of a fallen log caught my eye during my recent hike at the nearby county park. Recent rainfalls had made the area rather soggy. And as Kirk noted below, poison oak is blooming nicely too - glad I didn't go in for a closer shot !
Cosmo's Dad
After a month of planning and searching my brother and I finally found the perfect Akita puppy, Cosmo. The only problem was he was in North Carolina. So, yesterday my brother and I made the 8 hour trip (one-way) from New Jersey to North Carolina to pick him up. We were greeted with great southern hospitality by the breeder and her husband on their huge farm. She introduced us to his other siblings as well as his parents. We also went around the farm and met some of the horses which was really cool. After the short stay, we said farewell to the wonderful couple and made our back to NJ. Its only been 1 day and he's already learned so much.
