Yup, I do the pickin'...

Pick's was originally opened in 1923 as a Reed & Bell Root Beer Refreshery and has been a local favorite in Cloverdale ever since. Serving much of the same menu it did when it opened, “Big Daddy" cheese burgers, french fries, grill cheese sandwiches, and milkshakes, the quality of the food as notably gone up since David Alioto (Healdsburger) purchased the restaurant last year. It’s great to see a classic independent eatery with great food and a friendly staff hold its own in this corporate 21st Century world.

I started this sketch standing across the street from the Drive In until the rain drove me indoors to finish.

After my Peterbilt, another car what I wanted to build was Pick Up.

it was easy to choose a color, because many black bricks left.

First I wanted do black and green with a lot green chrome bricks, but then decided change the colour for red.

I used wheels from The Boss 41999, I like those white lines and they perfectly fit with the car.

I picked the prunes. We have a drier. I picked about two bucket loads this year from our one tree.

I did this ink sketch from a reference photo I took on the ladder. The back lighting caught my eye. I really enjoy working with these colored inks using a small brush and my Hero 330 pen filled with Indigo ink. Green and purple, always a nice combination.
