The Department of Energy’s National Science Bowl® is a nationwide academic competition that tests students’ knowledge in all areas of science and mathematics. Middle and high school student teams are comprised of four students, one alternate, and a teacher who serves as an advisor and coach. Teams face-off in a fast-paced question-and-answer format, being tested on a range of science disciplines including biology, chemistry, Earth science, physics, energy, and math.
From March 4 - 8, 2019, Boston transformed into the hub of physics as more than 12,000 attendees arrived for the APS March Meeting.
A global audience of physicists, scientists, and students representing 28 APS units and committees gathered to explore groundbreaking research from industry, academia, and major labs.

On Nov. 14, 2018, physics alumni and faculty gathered in New York for an evening of dinner, networking and to hear about the growth and success of the Department of Physics.
Blnky lights are Inova Microlights on "dim" that oscillate either 100 or 200 times a second. The camera was on a tripod and the exposure time was increased to capture motion over time. Students created the motions you see.
