Poor old Phil is dying. He has retreated to a plant under the hedge and is hidden from view there. At first I thought he had been injured but his behaviour has been changing over the past 4 days. He has given me oodles of fun and photographs so I will miss him :-( On the up side he has become one of fattest pheasants around and has had an ideal life :-) (This was a little yoga stretching last year)
Taken during a boat ride in Hundred Islands National Park in Alaminos, Pangasinan. One of my favorite things to do is to see the sun rise while at the beach.

From The Colonial Golf Tournament in Ft. Worth Texas a few years back when I was invited to the Pro-AM to play a round and got matched up with the great Phil Mickelson. Congrats to him winning the PGA Championship yesterday!
phil is an artist operating in south east london. he is a painter, musician, poet, sculpter, photographer etc. he also works with linocuts and other mediums. his latest project involves collecting discarded objects and old bones from the south shore of the river thames which he takes home and places in ways that "speak" to him. is phil an undiscovered genius, an english eccentric or a crazy man ? well they're all just words aren't they, labels to simplify the infinite complexity of life, what truths can they ultimately convey.

While I was interacting with yesterday's stranger, David, Phil walked up to inspect the action. So I immediately recruited him. No Problem. For a while, Phil, David, Katy (the reporter) and I had a round robin conversation.
But he told me that he likes to say “No.” “It gets a reaction.” Phil drove a bus in Manhattan for 30 years, and has seen a lot. Like when a rider said, “I'd like to get off here', Phil would say “No” and watch his startled reaction. Then Phil would pull the bus over a block later and say, “Sir, I have found a safe place for you to step off. Have a nice day.” I guess that those are the games you play when you have a lot of time on your hands.
I asked Phil how he was able to maintain any kind of schedule, driving in New York traffic. “Simple, you drive like a maniac.”
Phil was very outgoing, and could not understand why anyone would have a tough time talking to strangers. He should have the camera.
