Phil stopped by for a visit the other day. We had some catching up to do. I'm not sure how he got across the border to Canada but he will have to self isolate now for 14 days before he heads back to Pennsylvania.
Sometimes, I am just lucky! I was in Chinatown in Philly on the holy Caturday of the week waiting to meet my friend Chris when this woman stepped out of the house across the street with her cat, Gunner. Look at this adorable cat belly! I'm a bit late on the Caturday post but there is still just a little bit of time left today.

This is Phil. He's been coming in to our garden for at least three years now to pick up the fallout from the feeders. However, as he's part of the family I now spread a load of mixed and sunflower seeds on the lawn for him. He knows me now and we have an element of trust between us (I think). For this photo I am sat on our decking about 15ft away in the open wearing a bright blue tee-shirt. He is not bothered and has just looked up, as they frequently do, to make sure he is not going to be on the menu. Image Phil 2 was taken when my daughter walked out on the decking behind me and Phil immediately went in to hide mode just because he was not familiar with her.
Between the warm brown on brown tones of this classic rec room, low natural sidelight, and a handsome new acquaintance, I was smitten by this scene.

I was in Philly earlier this week for biz. It was cold and everything was salt blasted and icy... but I found time to get out.
I haven't been in Philly proper since about 1994.
Phil dropped by for Thanksgiving. Hanging out in the pool again.
I'm not trying to rub in our warm weather for Thanksgiving, really I'm not.

Here's a little history.
The decline and closure of Harpurhey Baths
It was not really until after the First World War that bathing became a habit. By that time most of the houses being built had their own bathrooms where baths could be taken in ease and comfort. This improvement in housing meant that public facilities were no longer required for sanitary purposes. Similarly, relative cheapness and availability of domestic appliances meant that laundries also fell into decline. Manchester City Council closed all its laundries in the early 1980s.
Harpurhey Baths finally closed completely in 2001 after serious defects were discovered in the building’s walls and machinery. Cracks in the baths’ walls that had previously been repaired had widened beyond repair and some of the walls were bowing. There were also problems with the baths’ steam boilers and the drainage system. The North City Family and Fitness Centre, incorporating a 25 metre swimming pool, was due to open 18 months later nearby on Moston Lane, making running repairs to the baths, which would have cost £3m, unfeasible.
