Phaser from Star Trek TOS. Base replica from Wand Co., modifications by Steve Dymszo (SD Studios). Improvements include emitter nozzle and casting of grip from a Master Replicas phaser (more accurate than Wand's). "Tenturn" power setting knob replaced with modern metal DigiKey tenturn with silkscreened markings. More accurate "extra crispy" on phaser one sight plate masks the sound holes. Accurate power meter label added. repainted to more closely resemble how the props appear on television. Black and White phaser made to look like the props used in the first eight episodes of the series.
Two different sound installations. Perlin Studios and Dana Karwas use motion tracking technology embedded into hacked Moleskine bags to create soundscapes in motion.

Day 106 of 365 (Year Four)
We added two more switchable outlets today in the basement. It was a last minute thought, but with my new found knowledge of wiring, it wasn't a big deal. I ran the cable, installed the two-way switches and receptacles and then tied it into the existing system at an existing junction box. Everything worked great. We also picked up 20 rolls of batt insulation, which we be installing this weekend. One of Kathy's cousins does HVAC work, so we didn't do much else in the basement while we were waiting for him to arrive.
While we were waiting for him to arrive we started work on Savanah's garden. While we were at Lowes, we picked up some landscaping ties, which were much much cheaper than those we found at Home Depot. We laid it out, marked it, dug up the grass, tilled the soiled, leveled it out, laid landscaping paper, then placed the landscaping ties and nailed them in place. Both Bill and I were worn out when we were done.
As long as it doesn't rain tomorrow, we will be filling the plot with topsoil and then getting Savanah's starter plants in. So far she had two raspberry bushes and two blue berry bushes. We are planning on planting some peppers, tomatoes and carrots. Savanah also wants to try some lettuce and corn, but we'll see. She's now got an 8' x 8' plot in which to plant whatever vegetables and/or fruits she wants (within reason - I had to tell her no on the peach tree).
Between the garden and the basement, I've been pretty busy and there is no end in sight. Once we finish the basement (including the installation of a new bathroom down there) we have several other projects lined up. Should be an interesting summer. At least I'll be busy.
Four 360 panoramas taken from the same field where I was learning to fly a paramotor, all taken over about 3 hours. Image One is the bottom left, following clockwise, The last one, showing the paramotor with new pilot crossing the sky is one of by best 360s yet, just wish I'd got him to fly closer on another pass...
Have had to shrink this a fair bit to upload, but it represents about 60 pictures
The "production" and "Black and White" replicas are painted in colors matching the original props as closely as we could manage.

So ck4049 told me about this website, trainiax.net, which has outline drawings of different locomotives. It's like an online train coloring book!
I couldn't resist also creating my idea for Amtrak's next paint scheme, Phase VI. Listen Amtrak, you know I love you and all, but that blank gray ugly Phase V stuff has got to go. You want red and blue and stripes? Okay, let's make it really red and blue and striped then! I thought this was similar enough in theme to past paint schemes to be generally acceptable, but with the red background which Amtrak has never used (and why not? let's have vivid, noticeable trains!) I didn't put a logo on it because it was too hard to do -- I like the old logo better but hey, it's a minor detail. And I used the old font, but the new one would be fine too.
