Back on November 7th, of 2004, a short visit to Joliet Union Station, yielded a Phase III Amtrak P42. At the time, three Phase III's remained. Less than a year later, there weren't any Amtrak Phase III's remaining.
Couple of shots from ÞIngvellir National Park today. We had some great weather here today, great for some nature shooting.

In the first phase of the crisis, Stagecoach NorthWest were asked to provide a dozen new schools’ services, taking the infamous 20 mile diversion for what was once a ten or fifteen minute run. These buses were recognisable by their A4 paper alpha route identifications in the windscreens (designated A to L), well, that and the fact that they were full of schoolkids yawning more than they normally did, having risen much earlier than before. This bridge at Papcastle, near Cockermouth, over six miles up river from Workington became the only crossing and used here on 26 November by Alexander PS bodied Volvo B10M Stagecoach NW 20735 working extra schools connection route "I" on 26 November 2009.

The next phase of displaying my brick collection has been completed today with the refurbishment and rebuilding of a brick rack I made about 20 years ago, one of the sides was rotten and needed replacing, but it will take about a week for the the preservative to fully dry before I can put bricks on it. Also built a new smaller rack seen in the centre of the picture.
In the foreground is a railway sleeper which came from the 2ft gauge railway at Dinas silica mine and next to that is a small piece of tramway rail that came from the site of the Bridgend Dinas Brick Company works near Aberkenfig. Also can be seen a wheel from a brick barrow that came from Dorset and the narrow gauge wheelsets seen in the background came from an English brickworks via a railway dealer in Ross-on-Wye. There is also a point from my old 2ft narrow gauge railway which I had at Southerndown.
The signal is apparently a Midland Railway shunting signal, although I'm no expert on signalling and could well be wrong. The enamel signs are just two that somehow escaped a necessary cull back in the 1990s, I once had an enviable collection which sadly had to go for financial reasons. The cast iron bridge sign was loaned to me decades ago and the owner has never asked for it back.

Suehiro means 'expanding end' and Phase II is about expanding the techniques learned in Phase I. The cherry, plum and mapel leaves make another appearance but this time they are padded.
The student is ialso ntroduced to new techniques: special effects, cords and goldwork.
Going through old family photos, I came across this one my wife took in 1978. That’s me, apparently exhibiting my Napoleon phase. Why, I don’t know, having no recollection of this at all.
The camera around my neck was a 35mm Yashica viewfinder. This was just a few months before I bought my first SLR, the Pentax K-1000, which I still have, still love, and occasionally still use.
The body of this former rescue Renault Master was treated by Carrosserie J.C. Picot S.A., Beaune.

It's now in use as a camper.
The new Renault Master Series was presented in September 1980. It replaced the 1965-1982 Renault Saviem SG Series.
The Master had a very characteristic modernistic design. It is said that Marcello Gandini (who died last month, Torino 1938-2024) was the main designer of the Master Type I. Gandini then worked at the Bertone studio.
This first generation Master has the new face-lifted front grille.

Around 1980, Greater Manchester Police command realised the force needed a new control room that could service the entire region.
Plans were drawn up to build the new structure on the same site of the force’s recently acquired headquarters in Stretford.
Pictured are some of the officers and staff who worked on the project.
The new building – said at the time to be the most advanced in Europe – was finally completed in 1986 and officially opened by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth in April of that year.
It was often referred to as Phase 2 because it was the second stage of development on the site.
The building continued to serve the force until it finally closed its doors in late 2019.

PHASE TWO of the Scenic Routes Initiative funded by the Scottish Government saw our alumni continue to have success. The new site was in the Cairngorms National Park, at a view point on the A939 Cockbridge to Tomintoul Road, overlooking Congarff Castle.
