To best use limited resources, data collection was broken into two phases.
From 1997-2000, Phase 1 assessed the 17 most populated watersheds.
Phase 2 is ongoing and assesses the remaining 48 watersheds.

the moon is always on the move (duh). without a tracking device, exposure time must be faster than 1/100s to avoid motion blur, which is apparent in the shots on the right.
first shot: ISO 100, f/8, 1/200s. last shot: ISO 1600, f/5.6, 1/10s. that means the brightness changed by about 10 stops or 1000 times.
Update: redoing the calculation (see below) results in necessary shutter speed of 1/5s at 400mm focal length on an 8 mega pixel 1.6x crop camera.

In the first phase of the crisis, Stagecoach NorthWest were asked to provide a dozen new schools’ services, taking the infamous 20 mile diversion for what was once a ten or fifteen minute run. These buses were recognisable by their A4 paper alpha route identifications in the windscreens (designated A to L), well, that and the fact that they were full of schoolkids yawning more than they normally did, having risen much earlier than before. This bridge at Papcastle, near Cockermouth, over six miles up river from Workington became the only crossing and used here on 26 November by Alexander PS bodied Volvo B10M Stagecoach NW 20735 working extra schools connection route "I" on 26 November 2009.

The clamp assembly was made as a stereolithography part in stainless steel, handlebar attachment was brazed on.
This went on my Raleigh International, to be used with a Waxwing handlebar bag I'm having custom made.
Used 2 new jigs to make both with the goal of aiding custom decaleur manufacturing.
AMTK 90222 takes a break from Michigan trains and is now leading Lincoln Service 300 on the Joliet Subdivision. It is seen splitting the Signals at Lemoyne, minutes away from CUS.
Today (Thursday) sees the start of the familiarisation phase of Lion Effort. This involves two days of intense flying that provides an opportunity for the exercise participants to become familiar with the area, and to undertake mission exercises in preparation for the main phase of Lion Effort that begins on Sunday.
Familiarisation is an essential phase of the exercise, allowing participants to become used to flying from the airfield here at Ronneby and operations in and around the exercise area. It also provides an introduction to the operating procedures that will be used in the main ‘Livex’ portion of Lion Effort, and to ensure that communications are all in place and functioning correctly. Experience from these sorties allows participants to subsequently focus on the larger force packages that are planned for the ‘Livex’ element.
Far from being just ‘sightseeing’ flights around southern Sweden, these ‘fam rides’ include tactical exercise elements. Tasks include visual identification (VID) exercises, 1 vs 1 and 2 vs 2 air-to-air engagements, and close air support (CAS). The Czech Gripens will also undertake air-to-air refuelling (AAR). For the close air support exercises two tactical air control parties (TACPs) are operating in the field to provide forward air control.
During the familiarisation phase the participants are flying in three waves per day. Some taskings, such as the CAS sorties, are taking place outside of the main Lion Effort exercise area. The latter is a large slice of airspace mostly over the Baltic Sea and the island of Gotland. During the exercise the ground control intercept (GCI) element is being provided by the F 21 Norrbottens Wing at Luleå in northern Sweden.

Handmade replica of the early "black and white" phaser prop used in the first eight episodes of Star Trek. Originally thought to be more "serious"-looking, the B&W phaser was ultimately deemed too hard to see on the TV screen. Prop genius Wah Chang was enlisted to modify the pistols into the more familiar grays-and-bronze version that was used for the remainder of the series.
