The chandelier from the musical play "The Phantom of the Opera" that crashes to the floor during the play. Not the best picture because I had to sneak my little point & shot to take a quick picture. Your not allowed to take pictures in the theater.
The Phantom of the Opera, an English play that is an adaptation of a French novel, is been enacted at the Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA) auditorium till 9th Nov.
The Centre Stage Productions (CSP) performed the play in collaboration with Warid and the Capital Development Authority.
Directed by Shah Sharahbeel, the play was very well received by the audience, who appreciated the immaculate performance of all artists.
The Phantom Of The Opera is one of the most out standing plays to have been staged in Lahore and Islamabad, directed by Shah Sharabeel, one of the pioneers of the parallel theatres in Lahore who laid the foundation of Centre Stage Productions.
The Phantom of The Opera’ is about a young singer who is charmed by a mysterious spectre who haunts the Paris Opera House. The Phantom teaches her to sing and on her opening night, takes her to his lair in the misty catacombs beneath the Opera House, where he declares his love for her — but she soon learns his terrible secret
His voice calls to her, nurturing her extraordinary talents from the shadows of the opera house where innocent chorus girl Christine Daae (EMMY ROSSUM) makes her home. Only ballet mistress Madame Giry (MIRANDA RICHARDSON) knows that Christine's mysterious "Angel of Music" is actually the Phantom (GERARD BUTLER), a disfigured musical genius who haunts the catacombs of the theatre, terrifying the ensemble of artists who live and work there.
When temperamental diva La Carlotta (MINNIE DRIVER) walks out in the middle of a dress rehearsal for the company's latest production, the theatre's eager new managers (SIMON CALLOW and CIARAN HINDS) have no choice but to thrust Christine into the spotlight.
Her mesmerizing opening night performance captivates both the audience and the Phantom, who devotes himself to casting his protégé as the opera's next star. But he is not the only powerful man to be awed by the young soprano, as Christine soon finds herself courted by the theatre's wealthy patron, the Vicompte Raoul de Chagny (PATRICK WILSON).
Though she is enthralled by her charismatic mentor, Christine is undeniably drawn to the dashing Raoul, enraging the Phantom and setting the stage for a dramatic crescendo in which soaring passions, fierce jealousies and obsessive love threaten to drive the fated lovers past the point of no return.

I did 9 interviews for the national libraries with young people about their ideal library. The 16-year old girl here wanted a cozy old vintage library with wood, a tree with books, a hammock, a cellar with pillows, a sarcophagus, theatre, rooms and little café.

Home to the headquarters of the United Nations, New York is an important center for international diplomacy.
Situated on one of the world's largest natural harbors, New York City is composed of five boroughs, each of which is a county of the State of New York. The five boroughs—Brooklyn, Queens, Manhattan, the Bronx, and Staten Island—were consolidated into a single city in 1898. The city and its metropolitan area constitute the premier gateway for legal immigration to the United States. New York City traces its origins to a trading post founded by colonists from the Dutch Republic in 1624 on Lower Manhattan; the post was named New Amsterdam in 1626. The city and its surroundings came under English control in 1664 and were renamed New York after King Charles II of England granted the lands to his brother, the Duke of York. New York was the capital of the United States from 1785 until 1790, and has been the largest U.S. city since 1790. The Statue of Liberty greeted millions of immigrants as they came to the U.S. by ship in the late 19th and early 20th centuries and is a symbol of the U.S. and its ideals of liberty and peace. In the 21st century, New York has emerged as a global node of creativity and entrepreneurship and environmental sustainability, and as a symbol of freedom and cultural diversity. In 2019, New York was voted the greatest city in the world per a survey of over 30,000 people from 48 cities worldwide, citing its cultural diversity.
Many districts and landmarks in New York City are well known, including three of the world's ten most visited tourist attractions in 2013. A record 62.8 million tourists visited New York City in 2017. Times Square is the brightly illuminated hub of the Broadway Theater District, one of the world's busiest pedestrian intersections, and a major center of the world's entertainment industry. Many of the city's landmarks, skyscrapers, and parks are known around the world. Manhattan's real estate market is among the most expensive in the world. New York is home to the largest ethnic Chinese population outside of Asia, with multiple distinct Chinatowns across the city. Providing continuous 24/7 service and contributing to the nickname The City that Never Sleeps, the New York City Subway is the largest single-operator rapid transit system worldwide, with 472 rail stations. The city has over 120 colleges and universities, including Columbia University, New York University, Rockefeller University, and the City University of New York system, which is the largest urban public university system in the United States. Manhattan is home to the world's two largest stock exchanges by total market capitalization, namely the New York Stock Exchange, located on Wall Street in the Financial District of Lower Manhattan, and NASDAQ, headquartered in Midtown Manhattan.
Little Alba modelling a winter coat and hat with big pink bows - 'tailored' or 'Dior bows' - they are constructed from 2 pieces of ribbon and not knotted at all, at all.
The blue coat and hat is part of the 'Love to Dress - Best Blue Coat' dress set from Nov 2006 - one of the Takara dress sets they issued for the petite Blythes.
And behind Alba is my latest costume job - I'm mending and altering a beaded capelet for the stage.

The first American edition of “The Phantom of the Opera” is illustrated with a color frontispiece and four double-page color illustrations by Andre Castaigne (1861-1929). The book’s author, Gaston Leroux (1868-1927), was a French journalist and writer of detective fiction. Though this is his most famous novel, he also authored a popular series of “locked room” mysteries including The Mystery of the Yellow Room and The Perfume of the Lady in Black. But The Phantom of the Opera is, by far, his most influential novel and the basis of many film adaptations, beginning with Lon Chaney Sr. in 1925, as well as the basis of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s musical, one of the most successful of all time.

Of course it's Ryan what else can it be....if you could see the reflections in is eyes..you would see he was watching the Phantom of the Opera, with the delicious Gerard Butler as the Phantom...I didn't mind watching it with him, better than Dora!
Catching up tonight...work is constantly in the way and the days are sooo short :(
I couldn't resist photographing the stage of the Phantom of the Opera as we waited for the May 19, 2016 matinee performance of the show to begin. It was a terrific performance, but photos weren't allowed once the show had started.

Her Majesty's Theatre in London's Haymarket. Designed by C J Phipps and Romaine Walker in a French C18th style. This is one of the West End's finest theatres, wide with excellent sightlines and supremely elegant. Apart from a number of pillars, this is a near perfect theatre, which has been described as "the best planned theatre in London". Built as a replacement to earlier theatres on this site since 1705, the current theatre was designed by C J Phipps and opened in April 1897. It seats around 1,200 currently, slightly down on the 1,319 quoted in 1897. The building is grade 2* listed and in 1986 the record-breaking run of "The Phantom of the Opera" began. The name reverted to His Majesty's after the coronation of King Charles III in 2023, and it is part of LW Theatres Group.

This is the best photo I have of the dress after last remodelling. The bodice is a bit tight over the bust, so I narrowed the neck lining a bit. i'm still chesty, but it's better than before...

We attended our 1st Broadway show this summer... Phantom of the Opera and witnessed an incredible performance!
Knowing that pictures weren't permitted at the performance, I did not bring my Nikon thinking I'd take a break from all the shooting I did while visiting NYC. Of course I had my Olympus 8010 in my pocket and took this outside this wonderful theatre. Thinking back I wish I had the Nikon and could have tried for an HDR.
