"If this idea of putting a Novi Star head on a Monster High Body inspires you to make your own please credit me ;)"
So its the BIG prop in the Phantom of the Opera, the Chandelier that drops dramatically from the Majestic Theatre ceiling. It was being raised into position before the start of the production.
The dazzling replica of the Paris Opera House chandelier is made of 6,000 beads with 35 beads to each string. It is 3 metres wide and weighs one ton.
The Chandelier is likely the most famous special effect on Broadway and perhaps the most well-known of all time. Even though the chandelier has been dropping for 25 years audiences are still astonished when the massive lighting fixture comes sailing over their heads and crashes to the stage at the end of the first act.
So as you can see i'm working on something here..but i removed one side of her face for the photo, to show how there faces all except Nita Light, and Tula, have this Shiny paint cover over there face that is also is what get's alot of wrinkles from being scretched, also she is only rooted for her hair to be put up, so i'm going to be working on her for sometime but i did finish cleaning her head, and i thought people would find this interesting or maybe even helpful? lol
OK, OK. Nothing against the hard working success story Oprah Winfrey. I’m just poking fun at own overweight self. But that was the most wordplay providing title I could think of after 14 hours of meetings in Manhattan. Well, actually, the last three hours were a team bonding exercise. We went bowling in Times Square, with me getting fatter on thin crust pizza, buffalo wings, chicken tacos, shrimp, lots of soda for me and drinks for others, and more. It was in my walk to the bowling place that I took this photo. It is the theater of one of the few Broadway plays I enjoyed and love the music of, The Phantom of the Opera.

Just playing around and trying to style her hair. Easy to flip her bangs with the use of the monster high brush.
We went to an afternoon performance of Phantom of the Opera at the Majestic Theatre. The stage is set for the performance to begin.
Phantom opened at the Majestic 26 January 1988. It is now the longest running in Broadways history. 2018 will be its 30th anniversary.
From Wikipedia:
Designed by architect Herbert J. Krapp, the Majestic was constructed by the Chanin Brothers as part of an entertainment complex including the John Golden Theatre, the Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre, and the Milford Plaza hotel. It opened on March 28, 1927 with the musical Rufus LeMaire's Affairs.
The Majestic is one of the largest Broadway theatres with 1,645 seats.
The Majestic was purchased by the Shubert brothers during the Great Depression and currently is owned and operated by the Shubert Organization. Both the interior and exterior were designated New York City landmarks in 1987.

All I ask of you - Sarah Brightman and Michael Ball
No more talk of darkness,
Forget these wide-eyed fears.
I'm here, nothing can harm you
My words will warm and calm you.
Let me be your freedom,
Let daylight dry your tears.
I'm here, with you, beside you,
To guard you and to guide you...
Say you love me
Every waking moment,
Turn my head with talk of summertime...
Say you need me with you,
Now and always...
Promise me that all you say is true...
That's all I ask of you...
Let me be your shelter,
Let me be your light
You're safe - no one will find you
Your fears are far behind you...
All I want is freedom,
A world with no more night
And you always beside me
To hold me and to hide me...
Then say you'll share with me
One love, one lifetime
Let me lead you from your solitude
Say you need me with you
Here, beside you
Anywhere you go, let me go too...
That's all I ask of you...
Then say you'll share with me
One love, one lifetime
Say the word
And I will follow you...
Share each day with me,
Each night, each morning...
Say you love me...
You know I do...
Love me -
That's all I ask of you...
Anywhere you go
Let me go too...
Love me -
That's all I ask of you...
Phantom Of The Opera
These were originally made in 1963, then they were reissued a few times. The original '63 boxes said "candy cigarettes" on them. Later reissues didn't have the Mummy in the line up. They made six monsters- I'm missing Dracula from my collection.
I did my best to recreate her 'box art' pose.
I really love Operetta. I like her a lot more than I thought I would. Her hair is working and her face is glorious!
Day Twenty Seven:
Don't look at me. It's gone. Some bugger's pinched it. My mask, I can't go out without my mask. Well I say go out when what I mean is sullenly brood amongst the cavernous tombs which lie beneath the house of opera. It is kind of my thing. And also it does stop me from picking at it. It's so hard not to. I know it's really bad for it but it's so satisfying. Getting the right bit of crusty scabbiness and slowly trying to peel it off in the oner.
Yes that could explain the sorrowfully solitude filled life that I've lead. I don't even notice the eruption of bodily functions anymore. Well I live alone so why would I. I just sit back and appreciate the echo they create bouncing off the rocky outcrops. That one was a B flat.
Oh but to have someone to share my song with. To enrich my being. To tell me when I have stuff on my face. There's no mirrors down here. I once spent a fortnight with a dried in dod of soup. I would have looked rather foolish leaping through the rafters with half my dinner running down my face. It's just not dignified.
But alas I am stuck here till I manage to craft a new mask and all I have is a box of glitter and an empty washing up liquid bottle. This could be interesting.

This movie version of "The Phantom . . ." was made by Hammer Films and released in 1962.
"Composer Lord Ambrose D'Arcy (Michael Gough) and his backer, Harry Hunter (Edward De Souza), struggle to find a replacement for the female lead in their new opera after she quits in the wake of a gruesome murder. When a new prospect, the nubile Christine Charles (Heather Sears), disappears, Harry cautiously investigates. Meanwhile, a mysterious masked man (Herbert Lom) who is eerily familiar with the opera holds Christine captive and offers to groom her to play the part." [Wikipedia]
His Majesty's Theatre, London. Grade 2* listed theatre, designed by C J Phipps and Romaine Walker on the site of an older theatre and opened 1897. Now part of the Really Useful Group and long-time home to Phantom of the Opera. It is one of the theatres which regularly changes the pronoun according to the reigning UK monarch - unlike the Aberdeen venue which is always "His" or the Melbourne one which changes the name somewhat haphazardly! The theatre in London became His Majesty's again in April 2023.

Palais Garnier is an incredible piece of architecture. The ornate interior of the most famous Opera House in the world has to be seen to be believed.
It is known as the home of Phantom of the Opera musical by Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber.
I hope I am doing it justice with my images of it...

The Hammer Studios Phantom.
It is hard for me not to want to get all the Hammer Mego figures !
Universal Studios did their version of the famous Monsters way back. Then in the 60s and 70s Hammer did their versions of the Famous Monsters. Which to me, as a kid, were more scary then the Universal films. Some of the Hammer films are cheesy and hard to watch. But many still hold up very well even today,IMO....
As is the way of Mego, they don't adhere to screen accuracy so much. Like his mask is brown instead of a light gray. His hair color is wrong. But I still like him !
Around the corner at an intersection in Times Square. Signage promotes broadway shows. I'm not sure in the myriad of advertisements how any can possibly stand out - but for me these 2 did.
Standing regally on Haymarket since 1897, His Majesty’s Theatre is the fourth iteration of a venue that has graced this site since 1705. Designed by the prolific theatre architect Charles J. Phipps and funded by actor-manager Herbert Beerbohm Tree, the current building is a richly embellished Baroque Revival masterpiece, now Grade II* listed. Tree opened the house with Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night, but the theatre found its modern identity with grand musicals—most famously The Phantom of the Opera, which opened here in 1986 and ran for over 13,000 performances.
The facade is flanked by Corinthian columns, an impressive mansard roof, and a striking corner dome. The original auditorium, with four levels and ornate plasterwork, remains largely intact behind the modernised foyers. With seating for 1,216, the theatre continues to be a beacon of West End drama and spectacle.
Originally named Her Majesty’s during Queen Victoria’s reign, the name changes depending on the monarch—making it once again His Majesty’s following the accession of King Charles III.

. Stage 28 was demolished in 2014 by people who do not care about our mutual artistic heritage. On February 12, 2013, Comcast announced its intention to complete the purchase of Universal and the destroyed what should have been protected. The 1925 Phantom of the Opera set was preserved, but Stage 28 was not. The film was actually completed in 1923.
