This was a going away party cake for a woman who is joining the touring cast of Phantom of the Opera.
This was a new capture for me last spring and I am looking forward to capturing even better images of this beautiful crane fly. It floats through the swampy areas like a ghost hovering in the mist. If you watch closely it will hang like ordinary crane flies and then you can try to capture a shot. In-flight shots are a real treat! I will try for a video this next spring.
Model Phantom FGR.2 of 29 Squadron RAF. Matchbox kit with markings by Modeldecal. Note the lack of glazing between the front and rear canopies, plus the rather blunt nose - both disappointing characteristics of the Matchbox offering.
Sorry it's a rotten photo, but I think it's a great image!
F4 on delivery flight after major servicing at RAF St Athan (as it then was).
The test pilot did this with every one of the F4s that he took back.
He also flew Buccaneers and Tornadoes, but he never did this with them.
Woohoo ! My WalMart came through for me today !
For the Monsters, I have been looking for the Phantom and the GITD Nosferatu.
Mego KO companies made Phantoms back in the day. But Mego never did.
Cool that they did now.
But the head sculpt is too good for Mego. Looks like it could be NECA.
They gave it limited paint apps to play down the detailed head sculpt, IMO...
The Headless Horseman looks great. But it looks like NECA to me.
There are so many talented people these days.
So I understand the urge to do the best design. With my dabbling in customs, I can't help but want to do the best detail I can, depending on the character. So I get it.
So I go back and forth based of on each character. If I would like them more detailed. Or more like some of the vintage Mego, where they took " liberties" in design. Because maybe they could not get copyright likeness and such.
Like vintage Mego Frankenstein does not look like Frank at all really. He looks inspired by Frankenstein .
Which seemed to inspire companies to KO the Mego style. And do the sort of in the realm of the character design KOs. That Mego sorted of started ...
Like companies AHI and Lincoln.
And Tomland. All of whoms' Famous Monsters look more like the FMs then Megos' vintage designs !

The Chance Vought F8U-2 (upgraded to F-8K) Crusader, BuNo 145550 in the background once stood as a static display at NADC Johnsville (later Naval Air Warfare Center, Warminster, PA) as NADC-00 before closure of that installation and is now painted as AK-102 of VF-111.

The Blackburn Buccaneer
The Blackburn Buccaneer originated in the early 1950s as a design for a carrier-borne attack aircraft able to carry a nuclear bomb below radar coverage. It was a British low-level subsonic strike aircraft that served with the Royal Navy (RN) and later the Royal Air Force (RAF), retiring from service in 1994. Designed and initially produced by Blackburn Aircraft at Brough, it was later known as the Hawker Siddeley Buccaneer when Blackburn became a part of the Hawker Siddeley group.
The Royal Navy originally procured the Buccaneer as a naval strike aircraft capable of operating from their aircraft carriers, introducing the type to service in 1962 to counterbalance advances made in the Soviet Navy. The Buccaneer was capable of delivering nuclear weapons as well as conventional weapons for anti-shipping warfare, and was typically active in the North Sea area during its service. Early on the initial production aircraft suffered a series of accidents due to insufficient engine power, thus the Buccaneer S.2, equipped with more powerful Rolls-Royce Spey engines, was soon introduced.
Although they originally rejected it in favour of the supersonic BAC TSR-2, the RAF later procured the Buccaneer as a substitute following the cancellation of both the TSR-2 and its planned replacement, the F-111K. When the RN retired the last of its large aircraft carriers, its Buccaneers were transferred to the RAF. The South African Air Force also procured the type. Buccaneers saw combat action in the Gulf War and the South African Border War. In RN service, the Buccaneer was replaced with the V/STOL British Aerospace Sea Harrier. In RAF service, they were replaced by the Panavia Tornado.
The Phantom II
The McDonnell Douglas F-4 Phantom II is a tandem two-seat, twin-engine, all-weather, long-range supersonic jet interceptor aircraft/fighter-bomber originally developed for the United States Navy by McDonnell Aircraft. It first entered service in 1960 with the U.S. Navy. Proving highly adaptable, it was also adopted by the U.S. Marine Corps and the U.S. Air Force, and by the mid-1960s had become a major part of their respective air wings.
The Phantom is a large fighter with a top speed of over Mach 2.2. It can carry more than 18,000 pounds (8,400 kg) of weapons on nine external hardpoints, including air-to-air missiles, air-to-ground missiles, and various bombs. The F-4, like other interceptors of its time, was designed without an internal cannon. Later models incorporated a M61 Vulcan rotary cannon. Beginning in 1959, it set 15 world records for in-flight performance, including an absolute speed record, and an absolute altitude record.
During the Vietnam War, the F-4 was used extensively; it served as the principal air superiority fighter for both the Navy and Air Force, and became important in the ground-attack and aerial reconnaissance roles late in the war. The Phantom has the distinction of being the last U.S. fighter flown to attain ace status in the 20th century. During the Vietnam War, the USAF had one pilot and two weapon systems officers (WSOs), and the US Navy had one pilot and one radar intercept officer (RIO) become aces by achieving five aerial kills against enemy fighter aircraft. The F-4 continued to form a major part of U.S. military air power throughout the 1970s and 1980s, being gradually replaced by more modern aircraft such as the F-15 Eagle and F-16 in the U.S. Air Force, the Grumman F-14 Tomcat in the U.S. Navy, and the F/A-18 Hornet in the U.S. Navy and U.S. Marine Corps.
The F-4 Phantom II remained in use by the U.S. in the reconnaissance and Wild Weasel (Suppression of Enemy Air Defenses) roles in the 1991 Gulf War, finally leaving service in 1996. It was also the only aircraft used by both U.S. flight demonstration teams: the USAF Thunderbirds (F-4E) and the US Navy Blue Angels (F-4J). The F-4 was also operated by the armed forces of 11 other nations. Israeli Phantoms saw extensive combat in several Arab–Israeli conflicts, while Iran used its large fleet of Phantoms in the Iran–Iraq War. Phantoms remain in front line service with seven countries, and in use as an Target drone in the U.S. Air Force. Phantom production ran from 1958 to 1981, with a total of 5,195 built, making it the most numerous American supersonic military aircraft

The Phantom Corsair is a prototype automobile built in 1938. It is a six-passenger coupé that was designed by Rust Heinz of the H. J. Heinz family and Maurice Schwartz of the Bohman & Schwartz coachbuilding company in Pasadena, California.
Although sometimes dismissed as a failure because it never entered production, the Corsair is regarded as ahead of its time due to its futuristic features and styling cues such as faired-in fenders and a low profile.

First flown in May 1958, the Phantom II originally was designed for the US Navy and entered service in 1961. The US Air Force evaluated it (as the F-110A “Spectre”) for close air support, interdiction and counter-air operations and, in 1962, approved an AF version. The USAF’s Phantom II, designated F-4C, made its first flight on May 27, 1963. In its air-to-ground role the F-4 can carry twice the normal bomb load of a WW II B-17 aircraft. The F-4C has a number of differences from the Navy F-4B mainly internal – the radar, radar set group, bomb control system, Inertial Navigation system and the navigation computer. The first production F-4Cs were delivered to the 4453rd Combat Crew Training Wing at MacDill AFB,FL in January 1964, the 12th Tactical Fighter Wing (TFW) became the first combat wing to convert to the F-4C and took them to Cam Rahn Bay AB, South Vietnam in 1965. F-4 production ended in 1979 after over 5,000 had been built, more than 2,600 for the USAF, 1,200 for the Navy and Marine Corp and the rest for Allied foreign nations. This F-4C S/N 64-0817 was last flown by the 3246th Test Wing at Eglin AFB, FL on 5 May 1986. It was given to the AF Armament Museum for display. It is being depicted as F-4C S/N 64-0813, an aircraft which was assigned to the 12th TFW. This is in tribute to a “tough” aircraft and the first unit to use it in combat.

John Muir: All the wild world is beautiful, and it matters but little where we go, to highlands or lowlands, woods or plains, on the sea or land or down among the crystals of waves or high in a balloon in the sky; through all the climates, hot or cold, storms and calms, everywhere and always we are in God's eternal beauty and love.

Wikipedia reports: Antelope Canyon is a slot canyon in the American Southwest. It is on Navajo land east of Page, Arizona. Antelope Canyon includes two separate, scenic slot canyon sections, referred to individually as "Upper Antelope Canyon" or "The Crack"; and "Lower Antelope Canyon" or "The Corkscrew." The Navajo name for Upper Antelope Canyon is Tsé bighánílíní, which means 'the place where water runs through rocks'. Lower Antelope Canyon is Hazdistazí (called "Hasdestwazi" by the Navajo Parks and Recreation Department), or 'spiral rock arches'. Both are in the LeChee Chapter of the Navajo Nation. The canyons are accessible by guided tour only."

I remember when Hamad was taking pictures of our friend's Phantom... the Rolls Royce emblem was inserted into the grill and then our friend was like "choof choof" hamad was like "sheno" 3oogeb he opened up the car and the emblem rised up!.. hamad was like "MEN WAIN 6ELA3 THEEEY!! AAAH MA5ALAW SHAY :p
As a brother I've known for 7 years.. I spent most of my time in Cyber Zone playing Counter-Strike and that's how I got introduced to him by playing tournaments and stuff.... after that we became close friends.. He was THE modest person I've ever known in my whole entire life.. never bragged about anything whatsoever.. Always kept his business to himself.. Never asked for any favours and always helped me whenever I needed any help...He was always there for me whenever I needed him...
He was the first person who came onto my house when my aunt passed away (allah yer7amha)....He came immediately on the same day just after 5 hours from her death...He was the first person to pay his respects and I'll never forget this moment, and he managed to cheer me up with his jokes and jumping into the pool ahaha and then throwing at him ICE TEA 3ala peaches :p ...I'll always remember this day where he gave me a call while I was playing NFSU and then he came all the way just to kick my ass in drifting mode and he did but I managed to cheat :p and then yewadena gahwa 3ala e7sabaah Yaza3am :p bas sometimes ysawe el 5aysa.. We go to Don Vito and he pays all of our bills and leave!! urgh!
I'll never forget this day as well.. when we had our gathering at the Karting place near seef and our friend was there.. and me and my friend had a challenge on who'd finish the DTM burger first..and I WON!!!! 7amad didn't believe what I have just done and went "al3aaaan gooofdek, shetsaweee ent!! matemtan" I told him to say "mashallah" and he said "walllaaaaaaa magooooooooooooooool" the way he stretched the word was 3ajeeeb!!! and later on after 3 days I got REALLY REALLY sick.. I called him up and started cursing him and he started laughing! ahaha :p
He was the 1st one there when I needed or when I didn't need help.....
We always managed to go out at 2:00am nothing too early :p as he slept mostly during the day and then just staying up till 10:00am or less and then sleeping till the next day..We just cruised all around riffa3 and looking for races...We even managed to race a Range Rover Sport...You guess the results :p
I'll miss his laugh, I'll miss his jokes.. I'll miss the days where we would go out at 2am and cruise around riffa3, I'll miss the times where we bought "cherokee" sandwhiches, I'll miss the times where he talked on the fone and I shifted the gear for him, I'll miss the times where he borrowed my stuff and never returned(even though I knew he would never return them I always gave him my stuff :p even my memory card that lays in his room right now), I'll miss the times where he always used to make me wait for hours to pick me up, I'll miss the times where I wake him at the early morning to take me to my girlfriend, I'll miss my brother, I'll miss my friend.....I'll miss him no matter how long I stay... I will always have a missing part of me now, I'll always realize how my life could've been with him.
