There is no GIANT step that does it. It's a lot of LITTLE steps.

Tra Coroncina e Radi (SI) (HDR)

I was quite surprised to see this wildflower growing through a hole in the oak leaf! I like the sharp shadow it casts in the mid-afternoon sun. Seen in Columbia County, New York, USA on June 29, 2007.

I was amazed at the persistence of this ant alternately pushing and pulling this piece of rock or bark.

Persistence Tour 2013 - Paris Bataclan

A Life Users Manual, that is. And not behind bars.

Knowing trees, I understand the meaning of patience. Knowing grass, I can appreciate persistence.

Persistence Tour 2013 - Paris Bataclan

Sam watched as the big kids climbed the hill and decided that he wanted to also. He tried...and slid backwards. He tried again and again and again. Finally, bursting with triumphant glee, he made it! I don't know if he or I was more proud.

I edited out over a hundred imperfections and bits of pollen dust.

Here is our youngest in our local B & N reading through Peter H. Reynolds' book, "Ish". This book is a wonderful children's book with great illustrations about a boy, Ramon, who loves to draw. Joshua is just like the character in the book; he can draw for hours, any place, any time. He is also like Ramon in that he gets discouraged when his drawing does not look as real as the subject. I wanted Joshua to be reminded, by reading through this book, that we are all rooting for him, just like Ramon's sister.

This simple book showed our son how much we value his love for art and the way he expresses through it, even if it's just "ish" now...
