perhaps that's why her cart is empty :-)

Perhaps the truth depends on a walk around the lake.

Wallace Stevens

Perhaps once a part of an effort to control beach erosion these concrete blocks are fully exposed at low tide and make for great subject matter and conversations pieces. That crazy green moss is quite captivating in person!

This morning's westbound Capitol Limited pauses at Toledo under cold and rainy skies.

Effective November 10th, the Capitol Limited and Silver Star will be combined into the revived "Floridian" between Chicago and Miami.

Perhaps being old is having lighted rooms

Inside you head, and people in them, acting

People you know, yet can’t quite name; each looms

Like a deep loss restored, from known doors turning,

Setting down a lamp, smiling from a stair, extracting

A known book from the shelves; or sometimes only

The rooms themselves, chairs and a fire burning,

The blown bush at the window, or the sun’s

Faint friendliness on the wall some lonely

Rain-ceased midsummer evening. That is where they live:

Not here and now, but where all happened once.

Perhaps reminiscent of our Great Blue but smaller and grey. Barkheda.

The Engineer of TF2. One of my favorite classes.

In what could be a recreation of Stewarts Lane depot 70013 Oliver Cromwell and 30777 Sir Lamiel are seen on shed at a photographic evening in February 2010. Perhaps one of my favourites I have taken at these events

Perhaps the most recognisable image of Hamburg.

Perhaps a brief show but rewarding this day.

Just a bit of painting here, but it is mainly a combination of parts that I like and I thought went together very well. I'm quite happy with the result. Here are the details:

Boonie Hat: Brickarms

Vest, heavy pack, radio: Tiny Tactical

Belt\hoslter: Minifig.cat

Face decal: Roaglaan

Legs: eclipseGrafx

M4A1 RIS: Tiny Tactical

As I photographed this bench from various angles I spotted a dog walker and was able to capture the two together. The dog clearly knows the route and leads the way leading me to believe that this is a routine that doesn't change much. That perhaps the bench is never used by this person. How do routines prevent us from getting the most out of life. Is the man really there with his dog or is he thinking about something else? The practice of mindfulness is about totally being in the moment. Isn't that why we do photography?

It will be a few more months before we see the lark sparrow, but right now it looks like it may be a few months before we see full sun. Now that I can walk 5 miles, it's been drizzling or overcast, an the SX50 doesn't do well on overcast days.

If you're looking for a lark sparrow, look down. They feed on the ground and under bushes. They also like wood piles. This was my rare guy who needed a better look at his surroundings. Perhaps the most beautiful of all sparrows, and extra points for being "accessible" especially in spring and summer.

'Mystical Spanish Skyline' - ['Sometimes The World Is Blue' ..]

Late one very hot afternoon in 'La Cala' near Benidorm, Spain.. if you strongly hides the sun by the sparkle in the water.. when you fly with a helicopter low over the water.. you see between the sea and the mountains a silhouette, a wall of skycrapers. It looks as the world only would have one color..slate blue.. it´s so mystical.. almost like a ghost town.. perhaps I had for some strange reason a bad dream only.. perhaps.. ;-)

Perhaps our most potent predator, stoats can take on prey more than five times their size.

... a spot I've visited on and off many times, there's always something different painted on the wall. haven't been here in months, perhaps it no longer exists ...

Loved this pose, usually associated with fresh browse this young Buck was actually trying to ward off pesky flies. Early morning walk in Dunham Park.

There they fly, wingtip to wingtip, or even closer,

"You've Changed" is a poignant mural in Toronto's West Queen West neighbourhood, by artist Jesse Harris. Located facing the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health, it speaks to both the gentrification of the area, and hopefully the transformation of patients recovering at the centre.

Perhaps the giveaway feature showing this is not a natural pond...

Perhaps the highest production volume SLR camera in history.

Perhaps nowhere else combines the conveniences of the modern age with the freedom and adventure of living on the edge of a vast, unspoiled wilderness l .The sheer wildness of Alaska is unmatched by any state, leaving most visitors to this land no less than awestruck. Soaring mountain ranges, rushing rivers and Arctic tundra ,you’ll find some of the largest and most sensitive tracts of wild land left on Earth

Perhaps I should momentarily call this thumping Thursday.

This is a vintage set of drums I recently picked up. Circa 1982. I have always had a thing for this brand of drums, I like their sound.

They look nice from a distance but there is rust on the rims and the finish has some cracks, but they are still cool.

I might also point out that the B&W snare is a 1965 Ludwig Super Sensitive that I refurbished in the 80's.

Happy tHuRsDay

Perhaps a diamond necklace draped around my neck for added sparkle..??💎💎 Oh well a girl can dream...

I'm not sure what it is, but something just appears off with this one. Perhaps it's the familar but not quite the same 'shape'.

I treasure the showy pink ladyslippers that grow on conservancy property near my home. I watch for them every June; and, this year, I worried that something had happened to them when when they failed to appear at their usual time. Happily, they are now back in all their glory.

Putting one's head together with the head of this beautiful young schoolmistress all the time in the presence of one's girlfriend isn't exactly a good idea. I wisely held back.

The Chinese way of travelling follows the snowball principle: you never stay alone. I took this picture during the planning phase of our common trip around and on the Erhai Lake and first thought that this is a failed photo, because my new girlfriend was hidden behind the map. It was only after this pleasant trip that I realised it shows lots of things. For the young couple finally finished the trip on two different sides of the street, and my new girlfriend (and future wife) and I had a good laugh.

Perhaps the most popular waterfall in Mount Rainier National Park, Narada Falls has an ever-present following of visitors. Veiling over a wall of basalt, the Paradise River slides and plunges 17 feet into a small pool then spreads out and veils 159 feet in a lacy display that can stretch to 75 feet wide at peak flow. When the river is running high, be prepared to get soaked at the viewpoint - the spray is always funneled straight at the trail. While the commonly enjoyed viewpoint provides the best views of the falls, a second, less developed viewpoint further downstream yields a side view of the falls from below, which has been used for some of the more famous pictures of this waterfall. The falls can also be partially viewed from the side of SR 706 near a large pullout about ½ a mile east of the bridge over the Paradise River. During the winter, the falls freeze and become 150 feet of Icicles, which attract ice climbers from afar.

In the 19th century, and perhaps earlier, reverse painting on glass was an art form used in mirror manufacturing, clocks and more. This is from an old Gilbert shelf clock that keeps time and adds its rhythm (need a word origin search for this one) to a quiet room. Nice background for thought and meditation. If you looks close, you can see the painter's technique.

Perhaps some of my favorite stamps ever =] I'm liking this Speedy-Carve; I just need to figure out how to mount them (what adhesive to use)

Perhaps I could get some advice with this shot. I enjoy the bird landing as well as the bokeh in the background, however I feel the background is way too busy. Is there anyway to still get a pleasant bokeh effect without it dominating the photo?

Perhaps a 'New Sensation'

There are a few images in my flickr collection over the time for the 'revamp' of this boat.

No doubt it's a summer start ... on this Spring day, it's still in Queenscliff, Victoria have final touches underway.

Since my previous outing in Hawrelak Park was so productive, I decided to give it rerun honors and was not disappointed because I came across two more duck species I had not encountered before. After much ado, I believe this to be a Lesser Scaup male, simply because the highest point of the head seems to be at the rear of the head (reverse true for the Greater Scaup) and because we see purple iridescence on the head which we would not (according to my sources birding.about.com/od/identifyingbirds/a/scaupidentificati...) on the Greater Scaup. Nothing in life ever is easy and one of the markings, the black nail at the front of the bill extends beyond the nail which is a sign for a Greater Scaup. However, since this was seen in a fairly small pond and not in coastal waters, that also points to the Lesser Scaup. But, really, I’ll let the experts make the final call on this and may end up revising the title and the byline. Some people find it exciting to research and find out what actually it is you got a picture of; I’d much rather take a picture and know what it is (gives you way more time for concentrated beer consumption). Regardless, I was happy to be able to run across him and he seems to have a bit of a dreamy expression, possibly caused by the female being in the area and he’s wondering perhaps perhaps perhaps.

Perhaps perhaps perhaps – Doris Day

Ickornshaw..the Pepper Pot on the horizon. There are two follies built on top of the escarpment of Addingham Edge Grit between Cowling and Steeton, north Yorkshire. They are Wainman's Pinnacle and Lund's Tower. Wainman's Pinnacle ("Salt Pot") was erected by the Wainman family of Carr Head Hall to commemorate the defeat of Napoleon in 1815. The other monument is known as Lund's Tower and was built by Mr James Lund of Malsis Hall.Lund's Tower (also known as Sutton Pinnacle and perhaps more commonly as the "Pepper Pot") is thought to either have been built for his daughter or for Queen Victoria's Jubilee.

I worked in a cemetery so I have a bit of an affinity for them. I find them a very peaceful place. However, I find the older sections, as seen in this photo, particularly sad. Graves are typically overgrown and the stones become unreadable. I wonder if all the people who remembered these folks are gone too.

Perhaps helm related, the wind was strong and North Easterly.

Perhaps the on-going sequester leads to "seeing things" where they are not :)

Perhaps even prettier when the cottage gardens and climbers are in their summer colours, Winson is yet another small and completely unspoilt village that lies next to the River Coln.

It basically consists of a cluster of simple cottages and substantial cotswold barns on a narrow and winding circular lane.

The village, and this small green, is dominated by the very large and grand 18th century Winston Manor that towers just to my right, like a massive architectural cuckoo amongst these simple (no doubt eye-wateringly expensive) cottages.

“How should we be able to forget those ancient myths that are at the beginning of all peoples, the myths about dragons that at the last moment turn into princesses; perhaps all the dragons of our lives are princesses who are only waiting to see us once beautiful and brave. Perhaps everything terrible is in its deepest being something helpless that wants help from us.

So you must not be frightened if a sadness rises up before you larger than any you have ever seen; if a restiveness, like light and cloudshadows, passes over your hands and over all you do. You must think that something is happening with you, that life has not forgotten you, that it holds you in its hand; it will not let you fall. Why do you want to shut out of your life any uneasiness, any miseries, or any depressions? For after all, you do not know what work these conditions are doing inside you.”
