Beneteau calls its extremely narrow bow sections with high deadrise the "wave splitter." It was conceived to slice through waves in "all sea conditions." Its flare is pronounced to throw spray to the sides. Note the open bow pulpit for bow-in mooring in Europe.

The deck arrangement doesn't cause a problem with headroom in the VIP guest cabin forward; the hatch over the bunk is actually about 2' higher than the surrounding headliner. We like the gooseneck reading lights over the berth.

The control for the Yanmar POD 120 diesel has one lever for both the throttle and gear. We recorded a top speed of 10 knots under power alone, which was pushing the boat beyond its theoretical hull speed. We would travel at about 8 knots in most conditions under power simply not to be wasting fuel for an extra two knots.

Beneteau offers the Grey Blue gelcoat accented with yellow striping as standard, and we think it makes the boat look like a million dollars. The skipper has this boat a little overpowered in this photo, but even so the leeward rudder has the boat under control.
