What’s the difference between being onstage and wearing a brightly colored outfit to work? Maybe we’re all performers more often than we think. Walker visitors wore original garments designed for ROLU by Various Projects, a design collaboration between Elizabeth Beer and Brian Janusiak, to experience what it feels like to be seen as an art object. The garments let others know of their “participation as performance.”

Joint Base Myer-Henderson Hall held its 57th annual Retiree Appreciation Day Oct. 9 at the community center on the Fort Myer portion of the joint base. “This is your day,” said retired Army Col. Al Willner, co-chairman of the JBM-HH Retiree Council. “Retirees and spouses, this is our appreciation to you, to thank you for your service." The celebration paid special tribute to World War II veterans and their spouses and kicked-off with a wreath laying at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at Arlington National Cemetery.
