This impressive theatre was designed by the same architect who designed the Bird’s Nest Stadium for the 2008 Beijing Olympics
When we were there, the theatre was showing the "Encore Melaka" performance, a fly through the history of Malacca from the days of the Prince of Palembang, Parameswara, to the arrival of the Chinese Admiral Cheng Ho, to the days of the Peranakans who contributed so much to the culture and ethos of Malacca.
The stage is indeed very impressive, with many levels all moving at the same time. It's also a very long long stage....

The picture shows the front view of a performer from Moondresses. It also captures the audience in the background. The performance was by Stretch MK1 during the Family Funfest, an activity organized for the Singapore Arts Festival 2007.

My sister is an alum of Minnesota (PhD and vet residency), and I believe my father was very proud to be playing that part in this chorus performance. At least I think he looks proud.
