My trip to Colorado wasn't about shooting but I needed to get to two spots: The Flatirons and Boulder Creek. We sure did luck out with the conditions. After the sun broke through shooting the Flatirons was a bust so we drove up Arapahoe and did some long exposures here. This is 6 long exposures (1, 2.5, 5, 10, 20, 30 seconds) meshed into an HDR image.

Thanks for looking!

May 20, 2014. Sitting at an elevation of 8375 feet, there has not been a month recorded in Bodie without at least one temperature below freezing!

As of November 5, 2018, I have requested my 2019 Bodie night photography workshop dates, hope to have them available for deposit soon!

Burned the place to the ground

HDR at -3,0 and +3 combined in Photomatrix and then tweaked in LR4 and PerfectEffects 8. This is clearly so overcooked that it almost requires a Gordon Ramsay sweary rant.

I really like it when you turn a corner in an old industrial abandonment, and come across something along the likes of above. A "holy shit!" moment.

We went for mushroom. The day was foggy and I was able to capture some amazing wood scenes. Comments welcomed

This second, and even more so, the third floor of this small building were in decidedly bad shape.

The glare from the window was tough to control during the post-process. It's to a point where I'm ok with the end result.

The concrete jungle of the Tokyo metropolitan area.

While visiting Asheville, I took the opportunity to shoot a couple of the waterfalls in the area. A nice peaceful morning visit with friends.

Many of the rooms in this asylum were painted in soft pastel colors - to soothe the savage mind. Since this was pre-drugs, or even prefrontal lobotomies, color, light, air, were the modus operandi for mental health treatment.

My reaction to this beach can best be summed up as, "Second to what?"

Update February 2009 - I replaced the original edit with one produced using Adobe Lightroom 5, Photomatix 5 (HDR) and OnOne Software's Perfect Effects 8.

Trees are protected in Yosemite National Park, people are not. This has become the norm in the United States.

Gang Staking, Community Stalking and Workplace Mobbing flourish in Yosemite National Park. These illegal, immoral, unethical and unintelligent acts are carried out by employees, residents and contractors of Yosemite. These illegal acts are allowed as Yosemite’s Superintendent and Law Enforcement look the other way.

I love blue hours, light trails and this time I experimented. Here a combination of multiple shots at a cross road in Lisse. We have car trails, train trail, bars trail and even bikes trails. Comments welcomed

Enjoy the sun. N'Jumo, oriental shorthair.

Someone once said that every Boise photographer has to do their own take on the classic skyline-capitol scene from Depot Hill with the winding light trails from Capitol Boulevard in the foreground. I did something similar last year, although I was impatient and didn't wait until true blue hour, so it didn't work perfectly. Last night I was downtown near sunset for a senior session anyway, so I decided to try again.

I did get the classic blue-hour light trails shot (maybe I'll post it sometime), but you know what, why do what everyone else has done before? I'm in love with tilt-shift sparkles right now so why not try it on Boise? When my freelensing attempts didn't work at all for what I had in mind, I decided to turn to my old friend Photoshop and create my effect that way with Perfect Effects after the fact. Welcome to Boise in faux-miniature, the Anna-way.

A month earlier, this shot would have been impossible, as the roof above was intact and since has been mostly removed.

From City Hall on the left, to St. Mary's Basilica on the right. This is a panorama stitched from six separate photos. Thus, far more detail at its natural size of over 20,000px horizontal.

"beautiful" tenement in Berlin

This is an artistic/architecture composition I created using a shot I took in Leiden. This is build in layers and really love the final metallic reflection effect I got. Colours and line blend together well as well the cool temperature of the saturation. Comments are welcomed

Somewhere secret and away from prying eyes is a place where old vehicles go to and await their fait. For many, it's the end of the road.

Poll: which version do you prefer most?

I took this photo at the Kinderdijk Park in 2013. This year I decided to re-process the raw files with new HDR technique and in this case luminosity mask. I like the dark and light contrast and how the cloud in the background create an interesting scenery. This is a HDR photo (~0.7 stops). Comments welcomed

This is another B/W architect photo where I spent more time in post-processing because I was after a different idea. I used exposure fusion and I merged the main subject (the building) in HDR Then I masked the building and added the clouds shot with a slow shutter speed. Now the clouds reflected in the glass surface are very sharp while the cloud in the sky are moving. I loved the concept and tried out. I loved the outcome. Comments are welcomed.
