The radiant crepuscular light that was so common an experience of my childhood in Portsmouth, Dominica, left an indelible impression on my mind and it has colored my palette like no other color scheme has. The vegetation that engulfed my puerile existence is a ubiquitous presence that surfaces in my painting without much thought of it.

The topic 'Human Perception' is what I've chosen to study in Studio Arts this year. This is made from one photograph of me, just flipped around. It's to represent the two contrasting sides of how we can be percieved. The right side is a more down-to-earth, realistic view on somebody.

The above image shows us a photo which is flipped horizontally and with a toy in the middle. Only colors differentiate them but how does the human eyes perceive it? At the end of the day, it is still the same image n the same toy.
