Afrodite, beauty and culture emanating from Africa, has just entered the arena and she is startled by the bust of Ichthus, (Fish,

Jesus Christ, son of God, Savior). The face of Afrodite is a composite of the features of Portsmouth harbor. That recurrent scene in my art is the one that I most admired in my seventeen years of life in Portsmouth, Dominica.

we rewatched 'YiYi' by edward yang a few nights ago. in the movie, there was this kid named 'YangYang" (probably alter ego of the director), who went around taking photos of people's back (head). When he was asked why did he do this, he said that he wanted to show people the side of themselves they don't see. it is quite a scary thought, because when we are busy doing/ talking about things in front of us, we always fail to think or consider things that we don't see.

In this picture, I no longer see vibrant colors and clarity with intensity. What matters is a vision existing in between the subject and me.

I was going to call this Perception Deception but that sounds too cheesy.

This is a series I took this morning during a visit to the National Arboretum in Washington D.C. I'd never visited the grounds before but the Pillars and Bonsai Garden were more than worth it.
