For the 114 in 2014 Group - #40 Level
A play on the phrase "Level pegging" - being in an equal position in a game or contest. ;o)
I know the phrase from the game of Cribbage, which uses a peg-board for scoring (a peg-board shot is in the first comment field). Online definitions suggest it could originate from Darts.

David Kingham and I ventured out last night to catch a sunset on the Buttes. On the way out we scoped out an abandoned house to hit up on our way home. I've had an idea in mind to light paint old houses like this for some time and with some recent acquisitions I am finally putting the plan to work. David and I took numerous shots painting various colors and lights all over the house and landscape but I ultimately went with a more subtle approach for the first one out of the chute (shoot).
This house is located in the middle of nowhere in the CO plains and was abandoned in the dust bowl. Up until a couple of years ago the house would have been the only thing around for many, many miles but over the last couple years oil rigs have begun to dot the landscape. Today they are becoming the norm and it's difficult to not see several no matter where you are. At night, there lights are numerous. You can see two such lights on either side of the house and the red light you see on the cloud and right side of the house is from a gas relief flame about a mile down the road.
Placing the lights inside this house was one of the most creepy things I've done in a long time. It was just plain spooky. Even the bat that attacked (flew close by actually) while I was light painting the porch didn't bother me nearly as much as walking into that house. I never would have guessed my dream to shoot this type of stuff was going to peg the creepometer.
Well, these are actually for pegging your towel to a beach chair ~ we used these when we had our home in sunny Florida ~ oh, to be back in the warm sunshine!

Historia Natural

1744 gets the road and heads towards Loughborough with the permanent way train. Nice to see two interesting freights today, and in my opinion, better than the windcutter rake. GCR 10.5.14
Found a pack of six very modern and colourfull pegs at a discount store and of course they begged me to bring them home... i could not resist their beauty...more colors will follow :))
I can't help it everytime I see the pegs on the washing line I see if there is another photograph waiting there :)
It's a fairly common problem among the stainless steel Phicens that the left wrist peg comes loose, so much so that you'll pull the wrist peg out of its socket while popping hands off the figure. Someone on a Phicen Facebook forum said the root cause was that the wrist peg had come loose from its socket and needed to be re-seated.
With this in mind, I peeled back the skin of a Phicen that had a loose left wrist peg and saw this. The socket for the wrist peg has a split design that clamps onto the wrist peg and holds it in place. If it this socket pulls loose, the two sides of the clamp don't engage and the wrist peg pops out.
Take a look at how much of the wrist socket is exposed from the metal tube that's containing it. This is the "Before" shot.
