Catching up on some back shots of the city.
On my walk around the city to catch up with events while I was away. February 1, 2015 Christchurch New Zealand.
The Western Patch-Nosed snake, Salvadora hexalepis. One of the many non-venemous snakes in the area, it feeds upon lizards, snakes, reptile eggs, and small rodents.
So! I finally got half a braincell scraped together enough to remember to take in-progress photos of my current big ass project.
What are these? There are various panels of denim, namely the ones that needed patching, cannibalized from 5 pairs of tatty old jeans from the stockpile I've got in the basement.
Patched with chunks cut from trimming down pieces that didn't have holes, and sewn with whatever threads I felt like using on the machine.
why are they 16 inches long though? Well, they're going to become part of a recycled denim kimono. I've got enough for the 2 migoro panels already, there's just the Okumi, sode, and eri left to contend with..and the lining ofcourse.

Ancient Aliens Patches is a small project to create a limited collection of badges inspired by supposed original Mayan archeological finds. I love ancestral cultures, as the Mayan, and science fiction books and films, so this Ancient Aliens Patches are the perfect mix of both.
Sometimes I feel like I don't belong on this planet. Actually, many times and for many reasons, and I'm sure you too. It’s not just a question of being different but you really are, each of us is unique. Each one in its own way is special. So I decided to design and produce these identificative patches, thinking about all those people who sometimes feel out of place, that they are not like the others and hope someday to return to their true home, with their own.
I believe we are not alone in the universe, so I will be waiting for my friends from the stars to come and pick me up soon or late.
Finally SimCity is starting to feel like it should with Patch 7.0 introducing traffic fixes and a bridge/tunnel tool.
I finally have a 100K population city without a traffic jam going in/out!
Pictures from our usual visit to the pumpkin patch around this time every year. We always have a good time. This year was no exception.

Taken in 2005, Patch, our late Jack Russell is just getting to grips with photography. She insists on natural light without flash, and a tripod for steady blur-free pictures.... hee hee.

Patch all grown up and posing by the plant he was just eating. ;-)
He was born in a storage shed on the Continental Machines property in Savage, Minnesota (home of the legendary horse Dan Patch, world pacing record holder for over 50 years - hence his name!) We rescued the whole litter (except for two that had disappeared before they were old enough to take) before winter set in, and all found homes, though they had to be bottle fed for a few weeks. He's a gem. He's gotta have Maine Coon in him!

Patches on my daughter's travelin' pants, de rigeur for train hoppers. Torn and worn out, the pants themselves should have been retired a long time ago, but in the past year have been fortified by a few dozen handsewn patches she's picked up from all over the U.S. Sewn with dental floss, of course. This week, on the night before she left at 1:30AM, I got the chance to shoot the textural hodgepodge. More images to be posed soon.
