Hi ya! My name is Patches! I am a young, energetic, happy-go-lucky dog in need of a forever home. I love to play with toys. I will romp and run, tossing them around in the air, tail always wagging with a big, heartwarming grin on my face. I get along well with other dogs, especially those who will play with me. I also have a sweet, friendly, loving personality. I enjoy being petted and told I'm a good boy. I have been around cats and I pretty much ignore them. I am a good dog who is looking for a home where people have the time and energy to spend with me, play with me and shower me with love and kisses. Could that be you? Apply today! Adoption fee: $75. Adopt a pair: $115. Fee includes testing, deworming, vaccinations, spay/neuter, 60 days of free pet insurance, one session with a certified behavior trainer and microchip. Apply online: www.pawsforliferescue.org

My old Scouting Project SOAR patch. I did a lot of work with my Troops recycling projects (Troop 68, Wappingers Falls, NY). I also got a trip on the Clearwater as part of that work.
I was watching "The Birdcage" again last night and noticed that this patch was in the scrapbook that Nathan Lane's character was going through.
Our milkweed patch is more robust than ever, due to the backyard excavation and subsequent neglect. No evidence of milkweed bugs this year, but we do have a monarch chrysalis on the tomato cage! (see neighboring picture)
Today, I had the magical experience of going to a Lo'i Kalo or 'Taro patch' and I got to partake in a very traditional and culture practice of Native Hawaiians; cleaning and pulling taro. it was such a beautiful process and it felt so good to be doing something with my hands and in the earth.
i also met some incredible kids from the local waialua school. today was an exceptional day and it reminds me of how important community is to hawaiian people and how important it is to me,
Finally SimCity is starting to feel like it should with Patch 7.0 introducing traffic fixes and a bridge/tunnel tool.
I finally have a 100K population city without a traffic jam going in/out!

Patch all grown up and posing by the plant he was just eating. ;-)
He was born in a storage shed on the Continental Machines property in Savage, Minnesota (home of the legendary horse Dan Patch, world pacing record holder for over 50 years - hence his name!) We rescued the whole litter (except for two that had disappeared before they were old enough to take) before winter set in, and all found homes, though they had to be bottle fed for a few weeks. He's a gem. He's gotta have Maine Coon in him!
