The veg patch has been doing a good job of keeping up fed with lots of yummy veg. Our bricklayer brought some bricks to add to the rubble pile and I have just enough to finsih the edging to the raised beds

My daughter had some dresses which she had outgrown. The prints were so cute that I did not feel like giving them away. They were in my wardrobe for almost 6 months now.

I have started this patch work project now. No, no, no I have no deadline in mind.

Slimy but colourful!

I camped near here in 2006 and I don't remember this water being there then. That was during the dry spell we had.

Pan Am POED rumbles through Orange with a pair of ever-common GE C40-8's. What keeps these units interesting is the mismatched patch jobs each unit receives to hide its former CSX letters and logos. 7542 is no different. Slowly they'll be brought in for a full corporate paint job like the trailing 7635.

working at camp is hard on clothing. I've been working on my patching skills lately. Here's some evidence.

This photo has been submitted as the starter picture for Photoshop Contest - Week 285 ~ Pumpkin Patch, because I won last week's contest (woo-hoo!).

Patches of paint make interesting shapes and colours on a wall. To top it off, there are two nice vents in the middle of it all. (014a)

Cabbage Patch Kids Dolls

Company: Coleco (original)

Debut: 1978

If someone were to ask what was the craze during the 1980's, that answer would be three words. Cabbage Patch Kids. You could purchase outfits, diapers, and they even came with a birth certificate as well. People (especially Mother's) were even fighting in check-out lines just to get their doll, mostly for their kids, of course.

I only had two Cabbage Patch dolls. I got my first one back in 1983.

They made just about anything and everything with the Cabbage Patch Kids name on it. Pencils, dolls, toys, calendars, buttons, coloring books, lunch boxes, traveling suit cases, figurines, TV dinner trays, Halloween masks, mugs, glass cups, View Master, rocking crib, pop-ups (toys), and so much more. It was a thriving business.

I made this Teesha Moore inspired patch for a tag game on swap-bot.

This was taken off of Barb's Snowmobile Suit from when she was a kid.

Found some of my patches in a bag of old stuff. I never sewed them onto the uniform. From when I did a lot of service and target rifle shooting with the 7.62 SLR, 7.62 Target Rifle, SA80 (5.56).

A mini and an Icelandic. Patches is learning manners by being ponied by Aegir...it is beginning to show in his behavior...most of the time. (He had JUST been gelded when he arrived at the ranch, and he still is really full of himself, and has NO idea how small he is!)

April Lynn, received Christmas, 1983, when I was 4. I named her myself! She came with some goofy name that I hated.

This is what I remember of that Christmas. We were at my mom's house, but this was before she married my dad. She was still just "my dad's girlfriend." All the gifts had been opened, and we were enjoying chocolate cake with chocolate frosting. But then my mom cocked her head and said, "Alan, do you hear something?" He played along and said he heard babies crying! We went on a hunt through the house until we came upon the place where they had hidden a Cabbage Patch Kid for each of us! We were beyond thrilled with our gifts; they were the "it" gift to receive in the early 80s.

April is wearing a flannel gown that my mom made for her to match the one she had made for me. I could have sworn mine was yellow, so I'm guessing that this gown may have belonged to my sister's CPK, and I simply inherited it when I got a boxful of CPK clothes from my mom somewhere along the line. My gown had more detail to it, much like my thrift store find from today.

April is still in fantastic condition, considering that I used to take her outside and play with her all the time, and that she is now 25 years old. Her face still smells of baby powder, as it should, and she's still perfectly stitched. I think the reason she's in such good condition is because I played and slept with my Pound Puppy, Arthur, far more than I did with her.

The Commander of the 2nd Canadian Division (2nd Div CA), Brigadier-General Jean-Marc Lanthier presents the new badge to the representatives of the Command Team of the 2 Div CA ceremony presenting the new divisional patch held at the Montreal Garrison Friday, May 16, 2014.

The symbolic handover of the blue patch results from the Canadian Government decision in 2013 to restore the historical aspects of the Canadian Army, and the reintroduction of the Divisional nomenclature and division badges. The restoration of the historical identity of the Canadian Army strengthens the link between today's military and generations of fighters who came before them.
