While my previous upload is also of Sela Pass which we crossed during our "Motorcycle Ride to North East India" we were lucky to find the same place covered with Snow while we rode back. Above is Sela Pass after the snowfall.
Though it was a challenge to ride bike while it was snowing, it was also very exciting, thrilling and adventurous.

Ophir Pass is one of the easiest roads I drive in the San Juans, but it has some great views. Straight down the valley is the town of Ophir.

In June of 1993 I made a trip out to Colorado to scout out a place to live for my upcoming job transfer. I decided to drive from my home in Apple Valley, CA to Colorado Springs railfanning along the way. One place I stopped was the Craig Branch and then Tennessee Pass. A few days before I took this photo I had photographed the EMD SD70M Demo units on a loaded coal train in Craig and followed it to Denver. I never expected to see them on Tennessee Pass a few days later. Yet here they are ar Pando climbing the grade. This is the first of 4 shots.

Heavy trains need a lot of help in their assault of Mullan Pass on the Montana Rail Link. This loaded coal train is no exception, as a 4-pack of MRL SD70ACe's serve as mid-train helpers to help climb the 2.2% westbound grade to the summit.

Michael and I are keen to immerse ourselves in the cultures of the places we travel to. So, on our way up this hill, underneath this tall overpass, we stopped off at McDonalds. Marvelling at the local chocolate sundaes and how truly fantastical it was compared to the boring options back in the UK.
So, chomping our way through the delicious local cuisine, we swerved around groups of students and made our way up the hill. Stopping multiple times on the way (all entirely my need- Michael could climb a mountain without complaining), I looked back and took this shot of the little valley between the towers.

I know, I know. Hong Kong, again! I’m not wealthy- I just keep spending all my money on going there. I don’t think they say ‘Fourth Times the Charm’ but this trip was just that - a success. For almost the entire time I kept my mental health issues at bay. It was a good trip. After three disasters - It is really nice to say that.
The view from the Continental Divide Overlook on Cottonwood Pass, at roughly 12,000 feet. Still quite a bit of snow up there. That's Turner Peak in the center. Taken with a Canon 70D and Canon EF-S 17-55mm lens.
This is the Lake District's highest pass that is open to motor traffic and it connects Ambleside in the Rothay Valley to Patterdale in the Ullswater Valley - the A592 road. In places, the gradient is 1 in 4. Brothers Water provides a picturesque view, on the descent to Patterdale.
The Kirkstone Pass Inn stands close to the summit of the pass. Formerly an important coaching inn, it now caters primarily for tourists. It is the third highest public house in England.

I don't think I'll ever get up that high again, was quite a hike and I'm not getting any younger. lol
Rogers Pass (elevation 1,330 m or 4,360 ft) is a high mountain pass through the Selkirk Mountains of British Columbia used by the Canadian Pacific Railway and the Trans-Canada Highway. The pass is a shortcut across the "Big Bend" of the Columbia River from Revelstoke on the west to Donald, near Golden, on the east. The pass was discovered on May 29, 1881, by Major Albert Bowman Rogers, a surveyor working for the Canadian Pacific Railway. Rogers had a second pass named for him in 1887 in Montana, c.373 miles to the south-east. - Wikipedia
Gibbon Pass over the Continental Divide wasn't a difficult road. It was narrow and a single lane, but that's almost every road in this area. It was an easy drive, but did stop me from taking too many photos. I will likely be traveling this way again somewhat soon. Maybe I'll take a bit of time to make sure I have more to shoot.
