Gaudis house at Parc Güell

After napping in a completely dark room for an hour or so and a cold shower, I headed back to my next ticketed attraction, Parc Guell. This is a large meandering park with features designed by Antonio Gaudi, the great Spanish architect who also designed Sagrada Familia. It was supposed to be a housing development, but it never took off, and Guell, the developer, eventually gave it all to the city of Barcelona.

 

It was in the mid-90s this day, I had already had a strenuous experience at Sagrada Familia, so you can imagine my dismay when I turned the corner and saw that I would have to ascend a mountain to get to this park.

 

But as you can see from a few of these pictures, the place is full of unusual details! I think I would have appreciated it more if it hadn't been so very very hot.
