These photos document a visit to see 'Limbo Lounge,' the recently completed restaurant / bar by Vicente Gullart [ www.guallartblog.com ] near Playa de Fora del Forat in Vinaros, España (about 2 hours south of Barcelona near Valencia). I had the pleasure of working on this project beginning with the early design phases through construction documentation and fabrication. The project relied heavily on Parametric Modeling in Top Solid (Missler). Rhinoscript was used to develop design concepts and to measure / annotate / archive each unique piece with Excel in order to seamlessly communicate with the fabricator. The design went through several iterations, each one evaluated against steel costs and structural feasibility before arriving at the constructed solution.
Please let me say that MANY people contributed to this project. This information needs to be compiled, and full credits will appear soon.
These are photographs of a physical model designed to test the implementation of parametric tools for structural and environmental data.

This house is based on cellular membranes, more particularly on mitosis, altho i´ll elaborate on that when its finished :p
So this particular house is for a friend of mine, it started out as a pretty unusual art/trade because said friend is an artist, eventually we became friends and this passed to be a gift more than anything, tho i think it should look nice on my portfolio.
The house in question would be located in North Carolina, altho its not finished, I have yet to build/design a studio.
This is a parametric shutter and pinhole clamp designed to be fastened onto a small coffee can (espresso-sized) or similar. Used with sheet film or photographic paper, this kind of pinhole camera needs to be loaded (in the DARK) with fresh film or paper for every exposure.
Mount the shutter on the cap for a classic anamorphic pinhole camera.
The tripod mounts are pending as of these uploads.

Chick 'n' Egg Chair is a lightweight seating furniture made entirely from corrugated cardboard.
It was designed and developed at the Chair of CAAD, ETH Zürich.
The form was completely 3D modelled in McNeel Rhino and then further processed in Grasshopper. The parametric setup allows the piece to be rescaled to any desired size, resolution and material strenght. Although the chair was initially designed for kids it can easily be adjusted. So far two versions have been cut and built - one for small children and another one for grown ups.
The algorithm to compute the necessary cutting paths is relatively simple. The 3D model is scanned and a simple grid projected onto the surface. This grid is extruded to meet the desired material strenght and then intersections and connection slots are determined. The resulting parts are arranged on a flat surface and can be processed on a cutting plotter. This method can be used for any continuous surface and will adjust automatically.
The program was then developed further to improve comfort and stability of the chair. Now the second set of slizes lies perpendicular to the center line of the model which leads to a more homogenous seating surface.
I headed up Moor Street Car Park for the first time, to look at the Chiltern Santa Train from above.
While there I got these views!
Coming up here, meant it would be my first time crossing the Parametric bridge to Selfridges.
Headed up the stairs quite a few levels before I got to the floor with the famous bridge!

Branching Respiration Skin (Yukio minobe,
This project investigates a computational design methodology with reconstructions of natural morphologies through computational algorithms based on Biomimetics whereby higher-performative architecture can be generated. Termite mounds as a representative reference of the highest performative system in nature in terms of its natural ventilation are interpreted as the combination between the streamlining external form and internal branching systems of air conduits. Furthermore, a computational algorithm, which can reconstruct termite mounds' morphologies, and a new design process looping between parametric designs driven by the algorithms and C.F.D. simulations are developed. This integral design process can make architectural forms adaptive to nature through the reciprocity between external conditions from environments and internal performances of architecture itself.
The parametric surface described by the equations:
x=cos(v)*sin(u)
y=cos(u)*sin(v)
z=u
u plotted from 0 to Pi
v plotted from 0 to 2Pi
The mesh was generated in Blender 2.79 and and rendered using the Cycles Rendering engine. Thickness has been added to the surface and a pattern of particles has been mapped across it to provide texture.

My long awaited visit to this building was in two parts. The late evening sun meant the museum was not open, very few people were to be seen around because of buildings secluded position. Every gentle curve, slightest change of angle with beautifully crafted metal covering with raised seams accentuated by the golden sun was beautiful indeed. The boundaries between architecture and art were truly blurred. The building's location on site was excellent and sensitive delicate landscaping gave the whole experience an extra flip.
The disappointment of not seeing the inside was acceptable and almost welcome as I was very tired and happy to come and revisit the inside the next day.
