ModPoly03A 061: Modular micro sculpture, 12 cm in radius, 25 cm high. Based on making lattices of lo-poly geometry, except here the edges are so hard, fat and distorted that the lattice disappears.

The week leading up to St Patricks Day in Birmingham, Selfridges is turning green!

I'm not sure if I'll be around town after dark to get it fully green, but this will have to do for now.

Another morning, another day needing the discs to be clean and sparkling!

3D parametric surface, lit by a few different lights, coded from scratch in Processing.

Modeled in 3dsmax, rendered in Octane render. Spheres packed into shapes along three different variations of a rose curve.

Most of these figures are some permutation on the Lisajous figure:

X = sin(A * t)

Y = sin(B * t)

Extended into the Z-axis, either by simply printing it over and over again once per layer or by setting:

X= X*(1-A*j), where j is the layer number.

Or by rotating each new layer by the formula in the next pic.

Interactive Permutation controlled with hand gesture (leap motion). I changed my software from D3 Designer (now disguise designer) Videomapping to VVVV for an interactive generative/parametric mapping. This is my first work with VVVV software which reminds me of Ventuz despite all nodes have different names. Its always an interesting adventure to learn and discover new software for new inspirations and possibilities...
