Second roll, first negs were too thin and scans have poor seperation, this though is a high contrast film already but Rodinal Special keeps the grain under control
I have only crappy photos, but it doesn´t really matter.
In a month I will be able to go after new images. Now it´s just chaotic. But it´s a good chaos =D

Dinah the cat must have tried to follow Alice into the depth. I saw this fragile cat on my screen, only after I had taken the picture through the dark hole of the bin. Luckily I could free her from this yellow bin and she is unharmed.

Kicking off the D-Wave Board meeting over lunch today at Goldman Sachs… with new news from Google that they demonstrated the use of D-Wave’s quantum computer to deliver photo-driven search (and improve on classical machine learning).
Here is a summary from the Google Reseach blog:
“Many Google services we offer depend on sophisticated artificial intelligence technologies such as machine learning or pattern recognition. If one takes a closer look at such capabilities one realizes that they often require the solution of what mathematicians call hard combinatorial optimization problems. It turns out that solving the hardest of such problems requires server farms so large that they can never be built. A new type of machine, a so-called quantum computer, can help here.
Today, at the Neural Information Processing Systems conference (NIPS 2009), we show the progress we have made. We demonstrate a detector that has learned to spot cars by looking at example pictures. It was trained with adiabatic quantum optimization using a D-Wave C4 Chimera chip. There are still many open questions but in our experiments we observed that this detector performs better than those we had trained using classical solvers running on the computers we have in our data centers today. Besides progress in engineering synthetic intelligence we hope that improved mastery of quantum computing will also increase our appreciation for the structure of reality as described by the laws of quantum physics.”
One of four photos I made for my portfolio submission to NYU. They asked for me to create four pieces based around the Parallel Universe Theory. Pretty nervous to hear the result of my application, but I think I did pretty well, and I had a fun but hectic time creating the pieces!
The idea of the Parallel Universe Theory is that there are many different universes, and in each one, the same things exist, but situations unfold differently. This is a hypothetical meeting place of one man from different universes. In each universe, he turned out to follow a different path in his life.

A pre-Brexit series I shot and forgot. I found it again while slowly starting to process and scan old rolls—film that spent years tucked away in a shoebox, in a dark, forgotten corner of my house.
There’s a quiet, painful irony in these few frames. I’ve always been fascinated by the way we live so closely together, yet often exist in entirely different realities.
We share one world, and yet experience another, alone.

Just took a pilgrimage to Burnaby, British Columbia to visit D-Wave’s row of quantum computers cooling down for their coming out party. They look a bit like meat lockers, but with RF shielding.

Awareness is a term referring to the ability to perceive, to feel, or to be conscious of events, objects or patterns, which does not necessarily imply understanding. In biological psychology, awareness comprises a human's or an animal's perception and cognitive reaction to a condition or event.
Awareness is a relative concept. An animal may be partially aware, may be subconsciously aware, or may be acutely aware of an event. Awareness may be focused on an internal state, such as a visceral feeling, or on external events by way of sensory perception. Awareness provides the raw material from which animals develop qualia, or subjective ideas about their experience.
Also used to distinguish sensory perception is the word "awarement." "Awarement" is the established form of awareness. Once one has accomplished their sense of awareness they have come to terms with awarement.
Popular ideas about consciousness suggest the phenomenon describes a condition of being aware of one's awareness or, self-awareness. Efforts to describe consciousness in neurological terms have focused on describing networks in the brain that develop awareness of the qualia developed by other networks.
Neural systems that regulate attention serve to attenuate awareness among complex animals whose central and peripheral nervous system provides more information than cognitive areas of the brain can assimilate. Within an attenuated system of awareness, a mind might be aware of much more than is being contemplated in a focused extended consciousness.

I thought of reloading the photo, but perhaps it's the gateway to a wormhole connecting us to a parallel universe. If so I don't want to destroy it before I go take a look there.

For every choice, there is a parallel timeline that diverges. Some could be located mere millimeters from us, thus explaining fluctuations in quantum matter...
What if the Vikings had stayed in North America?
What if the American Indians had slaughtered the first Europeans when the Indians discovered them on the beach instead of treating them with kindness and curiosity? Or what if the Indians had decided to stay in Asia instead of walking across Beringia?
What if the Colonies had lost the Revolutionary War? I, for one, would not exist. Would the English have allowed immigrants from other countries? My father is Irish, Austrian/Italian, and Greek. My mother is German/Polish. It is highly unlikely that my grandparents or parents would have met without America.
What if the South had won the Civil War?
What if the US government had never forced the Indians on to Reservations and nearly destroyed thousands of cultures with "Indian Schools," forcing the children to learn the white ways.
But let's not forget the good things too. Would any of this stuff had been invented?
Maybe, maybe not…

SUDDENLY: PALEOLITHIC cave painters appear on screen @ work on the most breathtaking mural ever seen...no explanation...an ineffable gravitas, a virtually palpable sense of history alive, including even (widely reported) the scent of smoke and human sweat...
FOR 12 INEXPLICABLE MINUTES...speaking in a language never heard by modern humanity, one artist even apparently making a joke that elicits loud collective laughter echoing through invisible chambers of an unknown cave (the location soon after discovered, further removing the prospect of a grand hoax & emphasizing a non-human intelligence behind it)
...SOME of the (unknowingly global) audience is intrigued and even mesmerized, others, after a minute or two, irritated, descend across time-zones (but mostly PST, West Coast U.S) to multiplex lobbies to complain, demand an explanation, what'-s-this-TRAILER doing interrupting what-I-Paid-To-SEE, etc...
