Parallel Universe by Ouchhh is a light installation at Artechouse. The light patterns are pure white light. However, my camera sensor captures the white light in these imaginary colors, so the photos look very different than the actual work.

strolling through the narrow veins of barcelona's old town, the world turns into a canvas of reflections. each pane of glass, a portal to another dimension where the present merges with the echo of movements. the vibrant red letters float, disconnected from their moorings, casting a warm glow on the cool hues of the city life. a solitary figure, anchored in the frame by his blue attire, echoes in the glass, his twin trailing behind him in the parallel universe. bags in hand, purpose in step, he's the unsung protagonist in the theatre of the everyday, unaware of the observer's eye, unbothered by the click of a shutter that captures a moment both mundane and magical. the world is awash with symmetry and asymmetry, the lines of reality blurred by the whims of light and reflection. and in this moment, the ordinary is elevated to art, the streets of barcelona whispering their stories to those who choose to see

Wilderness is not only a haven for native plants and animals but it is also a refuge from society. Its a place to go to hear the wind and little else, see the stars and the galaxies, smell the pine trees, feel the cold water, touch the sky and the ground at the same time, listen to coyotes, eat the fresh snow, walk across the desert sands, and realize why its good to go outside of the city and the suburbs. Fortunately, there is wilderness just outside the limits of the cities and the suburbs in most of the United States, especially in the West....

Next door to these stone steps is Liverpool's world famous Walker Art Gallery and behind it's doors are many millions of pounds worth of many different art forms.

The guy seen here at the bottom of the steps asks for suggests just £1 per photo, of him with some personal 'artwork' ; all on pieces of cardboard.

Weird old world, ain't it?

"I still believe in paradise. But now at least I know it's not some place you can look for. Because it's not where you go. It's how you feel for a moment in your life when you're a part of something. And if you find that moment.. It lasts forever."

Carnival in Basel, Switzerland (Morgestraich). The night when all the lights in the city are switched off at 4 am. The sons of the drums rattle your bones and the pipes ring in your head. The night to celebrate the end of the dark times, to realize to be still alive after winter, the night to meet the demons and apparitions we are used to ignore in our so rational daily life, the night to take a walk on the wild side.

Unnecessary to mention: The title is a quote from the famous Lou Reed song.

Hong Kong, SAR. From the 2-week special vacation, got only 3 days but very few times to get moving with my SLR coz the rest poured heavy rains and even had "typhoon 8" on our 2nd day. This is a shot almost everyone (who visits this City) have. Btw, "Happy Monday Blues!!!"

Day 41/356

I had to rise at the crack of eight o’clock today which frayed even more my tenuous grasp on reality. I floated through my morning, existing as in a parallel universe until finally a well meaning friend said ‘go climb a tree.’

In the tree I existed with ease. After I had to come down from the tree I carried on as in a parallel universe. Looking back, the only time I was in focus today was in the tree.

I am absolutely convinced that our universe is not the only one ( which is mind boggling and i probably repeat myself )...and that they are giant " Universes's Blackholes " as well ~ Thanks to son of Papa Do for the inspiration !

A pre-Brexit series I shot and forgot. I found it again while slowly starting to process and scan old rolls—film that spent years tucked away in a shoebox, in a dark, forgotten corner of my house.

There’s a quiet, painful irony in these few frames. I’ve always been fascinated by the way we live so closely together, yet often exist in entirely different realities.

We share one world, and yet experience another, alone.

The human condition, maybe.

A contradiction we carry every day.

A living oxymoron.

Olivia and Fauxlivia, if you watched the show 'Fringe' you'll know which one is which :)

Today started out innocently enough. I had planned to go in to work early, Manic Monday, my catch up day after the weekend, but I didn’t get up as early as I had planned (probably because I couldn’t find my alarm clock last night...where do these things go?!). Then I entered the usual period of lost time, left the house later than I had wanted to but still decided to go to McDonald’s for iced coffee for me and a couple friends, got in line and waited behind a couple that ordered one of everything on the menu, finally ordered 2 vanilla and 1 caramel iced coffee... they were out of caramel... then realized that they were also out of vanilla, whatever... I’ll take whatever you’ve got (not quite as bad as the time I stopped at Arby’s for a roast beef sandwich and was told that they were out of roast beef!), by the time all was said and done, I was NOT early to work, I clocked in 5 minutes late. That’s typical.

After that, I slipped through some kind of cosmic wormhole and entered what, in my world, can only be described as the Twilight Zone. It was Monday morning, yet there were none of the “usual issues” for me to deal with in my department, everything was clean and all the things that needed to be done, were done! I had time to catch up on some things that I have been trying to get to for ages. They gave me callbacks on athletic shoes, which are generally a time consuming pain in the neck. I had none of the shoes in stock, so the callbacks were instantly completed. Customers were polite! They said PLEASE and THANK YOU (geez...they even spoke English!) I was able to fix the problems that people were having on the kiosk. My first two customers, a man with a broken ankle and a woman with some kind of foot issues, asking for recommendations, walked away HAPPY in record time... I was able to show them exactly what the wanted on the first try and actually had their sizes in stock (no small miracle!), AND they didn’t question the prices! Then I had a visit from my friend Susan (thruthelookingglass) and was able to stand and chat for way too long because my work was under control. We had lots of laughs, made some plans and decided what kind of people we did NOT want to be when we get old (important stuff like that...along with her recommendations for watching a talking hamster interview which I still must do before I go to bed). Finally, a little bit after 2:00 I put my lunch in the microwave and went back out on the floor for a few minutes while it cooked and saw an elderly lady at customer service and I knew right away it was a shoe problem and I knew it was going to be a doozy, so I thought I had better step in and put off my lunch a little bit longer. I thought this one was going to be a MAJOR problem. This poor woman had cancer, her feet and ankles were terribly swollen from medication, she had a wedding to go to and she had absolutely no shoes that she could get on her feet. She was wearing mens slippers at the time. So we walked back to the shoe department and once again, the shoe gods were with me and I miraculously found shoes that she liked and could get on her feet and could walk in and could wear to a wedding. And then this really cool old woman, with the absolute best attitude, said to me that she would like to try to find some kind of gems that she could attach to the shoes to dress them up and I know that there are antique shoe clips like she described (Which God knows I probably have mixed in with a box of buttons somewhere) but I have not seen them in stores in years... and then she said to me...”at a flea market, you can get old earrings that would be perfect for this.” Yes, this old woman was my soul mate. Imagine that! Who knew? I asked her when the wedding is (late July) and I told her that if she couldn’t find what she wanted to come back and see me and I will find a way to make those shoes sparkle for her. (and I will. I will start working on them this week, just in case she does come back.) When she left, she gave me a hug and a kiss and told me that I had made her day, and she loved me. When does that happen? Wow. It gets better. On the way out, she asked for the manager and told him that he was lucky to have me (he knows, I tell him so...that he is lucky to have me and my entire shoe team) and that he better be good to me or she will be will be back to take care of him. The people in customer service told me that. haha. And later the manager came back and told me himself. Her name was Grace.... Amazing Grace. I hope I’ll see her again. Finally ate lunch. Stayed at work an extra hour and a half to cover someone else’s shift and it was smooth sailing the whole way.

Went home, just in time to go to Puppy Kindergarten with Dayna and Meeko, and sometime during this hour I returned through that same cosmic wormhole, reentering the world that I am more accustomed to, as I sat in this class, receiving text message updates from KTE307 about the USA World Cup game that I was so disappointed to be missing, while I watched a peeing and pooping fiasco, started by Meeko, in which every dog in class except for one had an accident. The poor instructor tried to work through this, but no one was listening.... they were too busy passing around the roll of paper towels and the mop and running in and out with wads of pee soaked paper towels. Then it was puppy playtime, where she put up plastic gates to separate the smaller dogs from the larger dogs and Meeko, curious about what was going on where the smaller dogs were, put his paws up on this gate, collapsing the entire length of it, a small Jack Russell escaped the gated area, and a cat suddenly appeared from another room and was very quickly scooped up by the instructor, while everyone scrambled to try to get the gate back up. Yes, I was back again...this was more what I was used to. It was nice while it lasted, that visit to the Twilight Zone, or parallel universe, or wherever I had traveled to. I liked it there. It was a happy, comfortable place.

For a happy ending, Dayna and I laughed all the way home and made it home to see about the last half hour of a completely amazing and super exciting American World Cup victory!! Totally awesome. I liked this day. May I have another, please?

OK – not my usual style, but today is the first day of a new national lockdown, it’s a Sunday afternoon, it’s getting dark, and our little hill top is wrapped in howling winds and low level rain clouds – so what better to do than brew a mug of tea and sit down to a bit of pottering around with old photos. Nothing expert or serious – just a little bit of gentle doodling. Here's the first of two.

THE UFO PHENOMENON:

From time to time throughout history there have been reports of strange things seen in the sky. In 1946 a series of sightings occurred in Sweden, and in the summer of 1947 there were thousands of sightings in a six week period, and at least 350 people found themselves first and second-hand witnesses to what may have been an actual crash of a UFO with occupants. Since 1947, reports of UFOs have become increasingly numerous in the U.S. and other parts of the world. These reports continue in much the same form today.

In Science:

There are several basic observational categories into which the unidentifieds may be classified.

While UFO reports differ in many details, there are also a number of similarities recurring in such features as shape, maneuverability, appearance and disappearance, sound and color.

UFO sightings are reported to MUFON (Mutual UFO Network) at Seguin, TX, and CUFOS (J. Allen Center for UFO Studies) in Chicago, IL, by a broad spectrum of the public, particularly through local law enforcement agencies. UFOs themselves are reported by many highly responsible people, e.g. military and civilian pilots, air traffic controllers, scientists, etc.

Two Voyager spacecrafts were launched in 1977 that contain sounds and images selected to portray the diversity of life and culture on Earth, including a map of our star system indicating our location (this may be perceived as an invitation for any intelligent extraterrestrial life form).

The Voyager spacecrafts are traveling a 1.7 light-year distance, and as the probes are extremely small compared to the vastness of interstellar space, it is best seen as a time capsule and a symbolic statement with a serious attempt to communicate with aliens..

like a message in a bottle in the ocean we call Space.

In The Bible:

"Ezekiel saw the wheel within a wheel way up in the middle of the sky"

Of the many fascinating scriptural descriptions of heavenly things, this one of chapters 1 and 10 of Ezekiel is by far the most stunning and complex. The description itself is hard enough for us to understand since there is nothing similar to it in the Bible nor are we told what to compare these descriptions to so that we may understand them. Ezekiel had to describe in the Hebrew language what he saw, which was so incredible and foreign to his experiences as a human; Ezekiel carefully documents seeing a wheel within a wheel spinning and hovering up in the sky. Another reference to an unknown object in the sky was when Jesus was born, the days prior, a hovering light (a new 'star') guided the three wise men to where the Virgin Mary gave birth to the Christ child.
