Have a wonderful weekend ;-))

“The eyes only see what the mind is prepared to comprehend.”

Quote – Henri Bergson

I see a lot of eyes. What do you see?

Happy Wednesday ;-))

Continuation of playing with my photo 'Reality' (see fitst comment box).

After the 'Parallel Universes' we enter into 'Double Reality'.

I got several nice titles, which inspired me to have some more digital fun. In the first comment box you see the original and a first creation.

Have a nice Tuesday ;-))

In that Parallel Universe, she noticed a garden,

for gardens were of the utmost importance to her;

They were part of her very being;

And so she meandered carefully and respectfully

into this sweet garden.

I am so glad I found this poem - it's been lost for a few years. I wrote one day after being in my garden for most of the day. It had been such magical day that I came in, sat down at my computer and this poem wrote itself. Out of it came Antonia of Venice - just somehow! I'm doing a series on the whole poem.

Has Mars rover Perseverance finally found proof that there is life on Mars? In recent audio transmissions there were strange munching sounds to be heard, frequently interrupted by "Mmmmmmmmm" sounds. And they seemed to come from Perseverance itself while it explored a new part of Candor Chasma. Or was it possible that Mars had its very own counterpart in Candyverse and that particular spot Perseverance was examining was a spot where both parallel universes interfered? And Perserverance had taken samples from Candor Chasma's Candyverse counterpart Caramel Chasma? The samples Perseverance would send to Earth later suggested the latter. Because the probe Perseverance had sent contained a jar full of vegan Dulce de leche. When the scientists at the NASA Mars 2020 mission headquarters opened the jar, the most delicious caramel smell filled the room. And the scientists decided to risk a self-experiment...

...which, as I can assure you, turned out all right. Just like my first attempt at cooking Dulce de leche at home ;) At first I thought about doing a caramel nest or another shape, then I thought caramel sauce would be nicer for the theme, because the delightful smell is strongest while the sauce is being cooked. But while I was looking for caramel sauce recipes, I also stumbled upon a few Dulce de leche recipes, and that's something I've wanted to make at home for ages. Since I couldn't decide which recipe I should use, I combined a few and started to improvise. And yes, that smell (and taste!)... yummylicious :) There are things that I like to taste, but not to smell – cheese, for instance. Of which I took a few shots today, because I wasn't sure about my Caramel Chasma image. But in the end I still preferred the image that illustrates the yummy smell.

What you see in the image are the remains of the Dulce de leche inside of the non-stick pot (strongly recommended for a sticky recipe like this) I've cooked it in. All that you see here is either the caramel cream or the pot itself. The image is another stacked one, made of 15 photos and combined in Helicon Focus (method A, radius 6, smoothing 4). Processed in DXO PhotoLab 4, Color Efex (Skylight filter, Color Contrast filter), and Luminar AI (Color Harmony). And, in case you are interested: ingredients used for the Dulce de leche were 200 g coconut sugar, 200 ml soy cream, one package (50 g) creamed coconut, ca. 70 g of vegan butter, bourbon vanilla extract and salt to taste.

HMM, Everyone, and I'll catch up with you a little later!

"Quoi que vous rêviez, sachez que ce n'est qu'un rêve.

Pourtant, comme il existe des univers parallèles infinis, tout ce que vous rêvez doit être réel quelque part dans le Multivers.

Et si c'est réel, peu importe où, alors ce n'est plus un rêve."

Somewhere in our universe, on a strange, insignificant planet, a foreboding, semi-translucent black monolith flickers like a ghost stuck between two worlds. In the distance, a looming planet, partially illuminated by a nearby star, takes on the sinister appearance of a crazed grin, as if anticipating what you are about to discover. Step a little closer to the monolith for a better look, and you realize it is not a solid piece of material, but rather, an eerie doorway, or portal, to another dimension--a galactic wonderland where reality is bizarre beyond your wildest imaginations. Incidentally, a sentient being crossing over the opposite way, from the other dimension to ours, thinks the exact same thing about our apparently "normal" universe.

Perhaps Life is much stranger than we thought...

Glimpse of Biringan City - oil on canvas 24" x 32" by JBulaong 2016

#BiringanCity #Samar #fantasticcityscape #paralleluniverse #wormhole #oiloncanvas #painting #JBulaong

This mystical, utopian city, whose good-looking inhabitants characterized by the absence of facial philtrum, apparently exists on a parallel realm accessed thru space-time gateway portals. The avant-garde, high-tech, level-up society already mastered harnessing and is enjoying the benefits of free cosmic energy. Sometimes when it manifests itself - the said surreal nocturnal city - is a sight to behold.

I was out shooting in Hocking Hills and stumbled across a portal of some type.

That was the plan...

This is a rare glimpse into a top secret laboratory located somewhere in the Alps. The device you see is the so-called "Dimension Skipper™", a vehicle constructed for space and dimension travels. The special construction of the Dimension Skipper™ allows travels to other planets, solar systems or universes, and dimensions/parallel universes within seconds. An important part of the device is its "Home Anchor™" which "remembers" the journey's starting point in case you should get lost between the dimensions or got rerouted to another designation due to dimensional interferences or "pollution". The laboratory is located deep down in a top secret tunnel system in order to prevent said interferences.

Here you can witness the final preparations for the Dimension Skipper's™ maiden voyage, a moment of utmost concentration and precision. Coordinates were set to the centre of the universe, but, alas, one thing led to another, John (the guy in yellow) forgot to close the lab doors properly, Jim (the guy in green in the middle operating the Home Anchor™) happened to be a little jumpy at the prospect of writing history soon, and James (on the right) remembered at that rather unpropitious moment that he had forgotten to bring his lunchbox. In the end they found themselves on my living room table. "This is the centre of the universe? Man, this place looks cluttered."

Dimension Skipper™: plastic compass with mirror, a pin, my Mother's old thread counter, headphone jack adapter, Preiser traffic cone from a "channel digger" set

The whole "device" is 5 cm (= about 1.968503937 inches) long.

A Happy Macro Monday everyone!

seen last night in my home.

The new island platform at Northwich station gets rather busy as a pair of DB Cargo Tugs turn up with similar freight trains. Bizarrely both locos are numbered 60017 ...... luckily I had the wide angle lens handy to capture the occasion.

For the record, at least one of them is the 9.07am Arpley Sidings - Tunstead Sidings (6H02).

I quite like the splendid glass roof on display - and even if a wash and scrub up wouldn't go amiss, it would seem that a bit of grime can't disguise true class.

It's been an unfortunate rough couple of days as I went bicycling after work and, when the temperature dropped 20 degrees and it started sleeting, I missed a crack in the street (There are a lot of potholes and uneven cracks in Chicago streets) and my tire was caught in a crack and I fell really hard. The good news is, I am not going to need stitches and, despite my pain, swelling and large gash on my thigh, I am still making the best of it. Healing will be slow but I likely won't even remember the moment of the fall or these couple of weeks of my life in my dying moments. (I hope not!)

Anyway, I am not one to lay in bed all day when I'm healing so I went to the Art Institute of Chicago yesterday to see Senju's Waterfall for Chicago, which is both very calming and creative. I haven't been to art galleries as much in the past two years but our numbers are a bit lower now. Unfortunately, our mayor has also lifted the mask mandate so I don't feel as safe. About half of the people were wearing their masks yesterday. I was double masked like usual. I'd rather risk a little discomfort than get sick personally.

I was just thinking that in a parallel universe, maybe I wouldn't have hit the crack in the street in the first place or maybe there's another universe without Coronavirus or bicycles or streets. Or maybe I'm not even alive in another parallel universe. The alternate title of this photograph is "Ghosts are Real" which, incidentally, I think would make another great epitaph.

At the beginning, I found the theme quite difficult and I struggled to find something…

A “beverage” is supposed to be in a container and glass and every other material I used gave the picture undesirable reflections.

Worst of all, the bubbles I would have liked to catch were absolutely erratic: when I managed to get in focus some of them… BLOB … they moved or disappeared!

So, I took ton of photos, drank a lot (not alcohol, only mineral water and soft drinks, to have fresh subjects for my shots) and played with some post processing that usually I don’t have :-))

This is the image I prefer: I hope you will like, you'll judge by yourself.

One thing I can tell you: I really enjoyed my time and had fun

HMM

P.S. at the end, I put everything upside-down: this way, the top of the picture is the lower part of the glass of this “blond” drink

The edge of the solar storm running parallel to the milky way. This shot was taken on a night that I had originally intended for practicing my star photography. I went home with a lot morethan just stars.
