The mid-morning traffic is typically healthy along Western Esplanade in Southampton as it competes, for a short distance at least, with SWT's 9.03 Weymouth - London Waterloo (1W08) service, brought up in the rear by unit 444003.
The Marlands Centre, an attractive proposition for would-be shoppers, can be seen at the top of the road. Possibly a good time to visit too - plenty of parking usually indicates a more pleasant shopping experience!

Racing against the setting sun to compose sunset light against Factory Butte.
With the light dropping fast i saw this fence and the tracks in the dirt heading into infinity and decided this is as good as it gets.

You can see part of the nictitating membrane which protects the eye from debris or prey. Its like a clear eyelid which can be drawn across the eyeball.
I've often thought about capturing clouds and reflections this way but never got the chance. Tonight that desire pretty much came true.
