The edge of the solar storm running parallel to the milky way. This shot was taken on a night that I had originally intended for practicing my star photography. I went home with a lot morethan just stars.

The orange/red light on the clouds in the middle are lights from the nearby train crossing to Portage road.

The weather wasn't cooperating on this day when I was out with the camera, but I did like the way these railroad tracks looked as they left Missoula, Montana.

she watched intently, she yelled every time he came close to shore, she tracked him, paralleling his movement when the current carried him north, and, finally, when he was done, she ran into the water to meet him because she couldn't wait another second …

I don't do much b/w as I don't feel very confident with it. However, as I worked on this shot, it was looking too much like one I posted a couple of weeks ago and felt it needed the change.

When I was 17, I took the US Air Force exam. I did very well, even scored higher than all my male counterparts that took the exam with me. in mechanics. And then the officer that gave me my wonderful results said the words "I'm sorry Ma'am. Women aren't allowed to fly jets. We want you to build them." I think back and wonder how one could be so naïve, but it was a different world then. I didn't join the Air Force that day. I only wanted to fly one of those most beautiful machines. And... I still think what if...
