ST. THOMAS (U.S.V.I.)
Saint Thomas is an island in the Caribbean Sea, a county and constituent district of the United States Virgin Islands (USVI), an unincorporated territory of the United States. Located on the island is the territorial capital and port of Charlotte Amalie. As of the 2001 census, the population of Saint Thomas was 51,181 about 47% of the US Virgin Island total. The district has a land area of 31.24 square miles (80.9 km2).
The island was originally settled around 1500 BC by the Ciboney people. They were later replaced by the Arawaks and then the Caribs. Christopher Columbus sighted the island in 1493 on his second voyage to the "New World". The Caribs barely survived the first decades of contact with Europeans, either due to disease, deportation or slaying.
The Dutch West India Company established a post on Saint Thomas in 1657. The first congregation was the St. Thomas Reformed Church which was established in 1660 and was associated with the Dutch Reformed Church. The Danish conquered the island in 1666, and by 1672 had established control over the entire island through the Danish West India and Guinea Company. The land was divided into plantations and sugar cane production became the primary economic activity. As a result the economies of Saint Thomas and neighboring islands of Saint John and Saint Croix became highly dependent on slave labor and the slave trade.
In 1917 St. Thomas was purchased (along with Saint John and Saint Croix) by the United States for $25 million in gold,[citation needed] as part of a defensive strategy to maintain control over the Caribbean and the Panama Canal during the First World War.
U.S. citizenship was granted to the residents in 1927. The U.S. Department of the Interior took over administrative duties in 1931. American forces were based on the island during the Second World War. In 1954, passage of the U.S. Virgin Islands Organic Act officially granted territorial status to the three islands, and allowed for the formation of a local senate with politics dominated by the American Republican and Democratic parties. Full home rule was achieved in 1970.

The three people in this 24 foot commercial fishing/dive boat were thrown into the cold winter waters of the Pacific Ocean when it got flipped by a large wave just off Port Orford's Paradise Point Beach in Curry County on Oregon's southern coast. Unfortunately none had thought to wear life vests.

Mount Rainier is the highest mountain of the Cascade Range of the Pacific Northwest, and the highest mountain in the U.S. state of Washington. It is a large active stratovolcano located 54 miles (87 km) south-southeast of Seattle, in the Mount Rainier National Park. It is the most topographically prominent mountain in the contiguous United States and the Cascade Volcanic Arc, with a summit elevation of 14,411 ft (4,392 m). Mt. This was shot at Paradise Point in Mission Bay area of San Diego. Melissa and her husband expecting thier first baby in a month or so.I was really excited to shoot here and look forward to a return visit.

Un peu plus au nord après Runaway Bay, nous arrivons à Paradise Point. Un quartier où résident des gens assez aisés, et certains accès sont réservés aux riverains, comme cette petite île où je serais bien allé faire un tour. Rien qu'à voir les yachts au téléobjectif, on comprend pourquoi le site n'est pas accessible facilement. Faudrait que je je trouve une connaissance qui y réside. Mais il y a peu de chances...

Further Runaway Bay is a very interesting precinct called Paradise Point. Here live easy people and you cannot enter anywhere easily. The little island over the bridge is a good example where only residents can enter. I'd have liked to enter this zone. Seeing only cabin cruisers over the bridge with zoom lens can speak by itself. If only I knew someone living over there. Unfortunately No way...

Basking in the orange glow of a setting setting sun on the west shore at the NW corner of Port Orford in Curry County on Oregon's southern coast, what a beach house should look like.
A while back I read a blog post by a friend, Scott Thomas that talked about using a crystal ball in some shots. So before this summers trip I bought one for $20 and brought it everywhere asking strangers and family to hold this thing up for me. Here is the first one I got in St. Thomas at Paradise Point.
