We took the Sky Ride to Paradise Point in Charlotte Amalie, the capitol of St. Thomas of the USVI.
The ride up was fun, and the view from the top was spectacular.
While at the top, we had a nice lunch at the restaurant.
I definitely recommend the Sky Ride. We plan to ride it again.
This is one of the my first shots from the top of Paradise Point in St. Thomas in the beautiful U.S. Virgin Islands.
It was hot as hell out that day, but the view was absolutely stunning!

Encountered this on my Saturday afternoon beach walk at Paradise Point beach on Port Orford's west shore, Curry County, Oregon. Despite the appearance this is NOT an HDR . . . reflected and disfused light from the clouds created the perfect light storm. Manipulation with my Lightroom 2.7 did the rest. Taken using the Sigma 10-20mm f:3.5 lens mounted on my SONY A350.

While in St. Thomas I took a tram up to Paradise Point. This was a great place! I walked many sets of paths that offered some great view of the ship and the downtown area, not to mention a bar that served a Bushwacker. I did love that drink. Again, I was not pleased with the weather since it was overcast, but it was WAY better than home. Happy Friday!

The Paradise Point Bowls Club.
The Infinity Club is pleased to announce that the Paradise Point Bowls Club has been awarded our "Global Cooling Award" in recognition of the valuable contribution made in combating Global Warming. The most effective action that can be taken to combat Global Warming is to reflect sunlight back into space before it is converted into heat on Earth. This award is given because the building in this photo is mostly white and also has a highly reflective roof. This helps to cool the building and the planet by reflecting more sunlight and therefore generating less heat. This can still be improved upon even further by making some of the stonework around the building and especially the car parks and driveways white, or by providing shading from the sun with plants and trees or with white reflective shades.
Global Warming and Climate Change can be stopped completely, simply by:- 1. Painting or making everything white, with the exception of vegetation. 2. Re-planting all the trees that we have lost. 3. Increasing cloud cover by 12% to 18%.
If we stop excess heat being generated by the sun in the first place, then atmospheric carbon (greenhouse gas) is not a problem. The carbon dioxide (CO2), actually helps to cool the Earth through the process of photosynthesis. During the process of photosynthesis, solar energy is captured and stored by the plant. The solar energy that is stored by the plant, can then no longer heat the planet.

Saint Thomas is an island in the Caribbean Sea, a county and constituent district of the United States Virgin Islands (USVI), an unincorporated territory of the United States. Located on the island is the territorial capital and port of Charlotte Amalie. As of the 2001 census, the population of Saint Thomas was 51,181 about 47% of the US Virgin Island total. The district has a land area of 31.24 square miles (80.9 km2).
The island was originally settled around 1500 BC by the Ciboney people. They were later replaced by the Arawaks and then the Caribs. Christopher Columbus sighted the island in 1493 on his second voyage to the "New World". The Caribs barely survived the first decades of contact with Europeans, either due to disease, deportation or slaying.
The Dutch West India Company established a post on Saint Thomas in 1657. The first congregation was the St. Thomas Reformed Church which was established in 1660 and was associated with the Dutch Reformed Church. The Danish conquered the island in 1666, and by 1672 had established control over the entire island through the Danish West India and Guinea Company. The land was divided into plantations and sugar cane production became the primary economic activity. As a result the economies of Saint Thomas and neighboring islands of Saint John and Saint Croix became highly dependent on slave labor and the slave trade.
In 1917 St. Thomas was purchased (along with Saint John and Saint Croix) by the United States for $25 million in gold,[citation needed] as part of a defensive strategy to maintain control over the Caribbean and the Panama Canal during the First World War.
U.S. citizenship was granted to the residents in 1927. The U.S. Department of the Interior took over administrative duties in 1931. American forces were based on the island during the Second World War. In 1954, passage of the U.S. Virgin Islands Organic Act officially granted territorial status to the three islands, and allowed for the formation of a local senate with politics dominated by the American Republican and Democratic parties. Full home rule was achieved in 1970.

The three people in this 24 foot commercial fishing/dive boat were thrown into the cold winter waters of the Pacific Ocean when it got flipped by a large wave just off Port Orford's Paradise Point Beach in Curry County on Oregon's southern coast. Unfortunately none had thought to wear life vests.

It is a large active stratovolcano located 54 miles (87 km) south-southeast of Seattle, in the Mount Rainier National Park. It is the most topographically prominent mountain in the contiguous United States and the Cascade Volcanic Arc, with a summit elevation of 14,411 ft (4,392 m). Mt.
