Pure and simple panic.

Weathercasters have their own support facility. They need a place to chill after a week of dealing with the outcries from the public about their missed forecasts.

A brilliant quote by Eeyore: "The problem with accidents is that you never see them untill you have them."

This reminded hotmediaho of some of her childhood drawings. At special request she made another one according to recollection, which you can see here.

Un panico solo non basta più, ne serve almeno il doppio per mettere le cose a posto.

I'll be away for some days...

Jesus Mary Christ RUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So here's a thing. You know I know how to spin wire wool so it makes a nice picture. See below.

This time I placed a small amount (1 tablespoon) of magnesium filings in amongst the steel-wool. The above picture is a 10 second shot.

The below picture is the first 3 seconds of it. As you can see, all was going well. The wool was burning nicely.

Then the magnesium caught.

Oh Lord.

What the picture doesn't show is the shear bloody panic on my face.

That stuff is freakin hot.

It burnt through the wire basket that was holding it in place.

It burnt through my jumper (sweater).

It set fire to freshly watered green grass.

It burnt through my nice hat.

And it kept on burning. Steel-wool just goes out after 30 seconds. Magnesium only stops when it reaches the Earth's core.

I was convinced the cops would be called.

Today's lesson children: magnesium is for grownups only. Steel-wool burns at around 1370°C, magnesium at about 3100 °C.

Wow.

My iMac got a kernel panic when trying to create a Boot Camp partition. Luckily, there was no corruption but now the Macintosh HD icon no longer appears on the desktop. I'm going to have to format the entire computer and start again.

Whoever made up the story that Mac is less hassle than PC obviously hasn't used a Mac.

Office goers at Ballard Estate panic at the rumours of firing at the CST (Victoria Terminus) which happens to be three minutes away from the estate. Most of the offices closed early today and the employees were asked to rush home.

The shutters were pulled down half way after the rumours did their rounds. I was inside the office. Couldnt let my daredevil Ma go all the way by herself :)

Macro Mondays - Things found in your pocket . . .

I always have my keys, of course, but am always afraid that I'll inadvertently hit the red Panic button one of these days - I'll have to try it out when no one's around!

51/52 - 52 Weeks of 2014. "Contre Jour."

Well, this hasn't exactly been the best week to attempt a "contre jour" style, or "against the day," type of shot, with days being a bit shorter, and weather has not exactly been cooperative some days. Throw in a few obligatory appearances at some Christmas parties this week, and basically I have had to hit the figurative "panic button" on this theme and used artificial light. On second thought, there have been many times when I have hit that panic button and come up with images which I feel could have used some more forethought or work on my end.

A White-tailed Eagle is still a rare sight in the Netherlands.

There are only about 2-3 breeding pairs every year, therefore I was very surprised to see one in this area.

Total panic on the small lake when he came swooping in, he tried to catch some geese but was unsuccessful, but what a sight to see this massive bird flying in front of you.
