My Brown Thrasher pair finally came back around. I used to see one or both of them almost every day. Then last fall, they stopped coming around. Today they finally came back! I couldn't get close enough to get a really good shot, but I was glad to see them!
C-GORP, a Bombardier BD-700-1A10 Global 6500, turning around on runway 33 at Downsview Airport in Toronto, Ontario.
Serial number 60038 had just arrived as BBA24 (Bombardier Aviation) after performing its first flight.
The aircraft is powered by a pair of Rolls-Royce Pearl 15 turbofan engines that each produce up to 15,125 pounds of thrust.
It is native to South Central and Southwest China. The leaves are mostly 10–20 cm long and 7–15 cm wide and are ovate to heart-shaped. Davidia involucrata is best known for its inflorescence that features white bracts surrounding a purplish-red flower head. Each flower head with a pair of large (12–25 cm), pure white bracts at the base performing the function of petals. On a breezy day, the bracts flutter in the wind like white doves or pinched handkerchiefs, hence the English names for this tree.

I've long admired thistle plants and was stunned to find this iridescent flying insect atop the pink flower blossom. What a colorful treat!
A pair of hepaticas pushing up through the leaf litter in the forests of Great River Bluffs State Park in southeastern Minnesota. A great way to announce the start of spring woodland wildflower season. We're due for a winter storm tomorrow with rain, freezing rain and some snow. The tough little hepatica will handle it just fine.
I felt so lucky last night, was in just the right spot that this pair favored. Each time someone walked along the path behind me they swam off, but soon would return, paying me no attention as I sat patiently clicking away as they moved in closer and closer.

I have always loved this sculpture and the view through its tweezer-like "pincers". I hadn't previously looked up the artist's description and rationale for the sculpture, however. I finally did so the other day...
“Dialogue” is a public art installation created by multidisciplinary artist Florent Cousineau, located on the upper plaza near the Alexandria Bridge in Ottawa.
“The tall, slender silhouette of the work’s two-part structure contrasts with the strong horizontality of its setting. While the pure lines of these sculptural forms create space for multiple interpretations, their arrangement also evokes an exchange between two monumental figures. Their curves entwine in a movement recalling a pair of witnesses, dancers or sentinels leaning on each other for support. Light sources emanating from within the two figures create a fluid, rhythmic dialogue, inviting us to linger.
Dialogue can be seen on the upper plaza near the Alexandra Bridge in Ottawa until 2021.”

There were still Trumpeter Swans at Potter Marsh the morning of the 7th of October. These two love birds must have flown in recently since their heads aren't yet brown from digging for vegetation in the marsh. It was great fun to watch them interact with the other swans as well as watch the numerous mallards that swan nearby to pick up the leftovers from the swans feeding efforts.

I believe a mated pair,
swimming at Potter Marsh,
I captured them there.
Digging for green leaf,
they were hungry for food,
and photographers were aplenty,
all in the mood,
to capture the beauty of creatures so fair,
we waited for shots of interest,
from this loving pair.
