On December 2 2014, a nice looking pair of Grinstein Green SD70MAC's grab the last rays of sun in Topeka, KS. This is power for the Kansas Power & Light coal train, that they dropped off in pieces at the power plants in Lawrence and Lecompton, KS.

"Inspiration" is what our little rescue Annie brought to our senior dog, Boo. Her effervescence brought out the puppy in our old girl and she learned how to really play with a doggie friend for the first time in her life. Boo is 14 and can still run like the wind, and although she might pull a few tricks out of her natural herding bag like cutting corners, she can keep up with her little youngster friend (who's a fast little bullet herself for being so low to the ground!). Thanks, Annie!! You've changed all our lives for the better.

I don't think that they've successfully nested this year. Several weeks ago and as recently as last week, I saw a fox squirrel going in their nest-hole. I've seen them by the hole and looking inside, but not getting inside. They're not giving up, but I'm afraid that the squirrel has taken charge of their nest.
....two cute little silvereye's had been feeding on some apple I put out, something stirred in the trees which made them a little cautious.
Silvereye's are native to New Zealand.
