Me and the boys went for a morning walk to the Hamam Hotel. This hotel is built around a very special hot spring. Only two spots on earth are known to bring the same water. It's healthy, full of minerals, and exactly 38 degrees celcius. Check: www.agistro.eu/page7.html.

The Red Spurfowl , *Galloperdix spadicea* , is a member of

the pheasant family which is endemic to India.

It is a bird of dry forests and cultivation, which is a quite secretive bird, and despite

its size is difficult to see as it slips through the undergrowth. Often

the first indication of its presence is its distinctive call.

This

spurfowl is one of three species of bird in the genus Galloperdix. It is

a ground nesting bird, which lays 3-5 eggs in a scrape. It is a plump,

36 cm long bird. Both sexes have a red facial skin patch and red legs.

The adult male has a grey head and neck, with most of the rest of the

plumage rufous in colour with white scaling. The female has a grey head,

and brown upperparts mottled with black. The underparts are rufous with

dark barring. The male of the distinctive Kerala race, G. s. stewarti

has all-chestnut plumage, including the head feathers. Like most of the

pheasant family, Red Spurfowl is a terrestrial species. It scratches

vigorously amongst the leaf litter of the forest floor for various

seeds, fallen fruit and insects. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Red_Spurfowl

Following the usual French bread recipe but with the following changes: the last 1/2 cup of flour was unbleached whole wheat and we mixed in about 2 teaspoons of raw honey while mixing the dough. The result? DELICIOUS!!

I met John today while touring the Potter Park Zoo on Party for the Planet Day.

This is my 1st Stranger that I actually asked permission to take a picture & use for the 100 Strangers Project.

John really enjoys being a Docent for Potter Park Zoo & was at the entrance today with a Eastern Fox Snake which is Native to Michigan.

John has committed to donate a minimum of 50 hrs a year doing things like:

* Teaching zoo visitors about animals and conservation

* Leading educational tours

* Using educational animals in outreach education programs at schools and public events

* Conducting classes on and off zoo grounds

* Assist with enrichment for exhibit animals

* Interpret wildlife, ecosystems and conservation for visitors on Zoo grounds

* Participate in continuing education courses taught by Education Department staff, zoo curators and zookeepers

This is my 2nd. Stranger that I actually asked permission to take a picture & use for the 100 Strangers Project.

Found this wonderful Stranger in Mason Michigan just after parking his Semi Rolling Tribute Truck in the Parking lot of the Mason Fire Dept. on September 9, 2011.

This Owner of this rig had this Semi Tractor & Trailer painted in 2005 & finished in 2006 for the 5 year dedication of 9/11.

Matthew Brian Hitchcock, Owner & he has 25 other Semi Rolling Artwork Murals that he contests with across the United States. Brian also has many other Semi Tractors & has a General Commodity Transportation company in Webberville Michigan.

This seemed a suitable subject for Memorial Day...
