I always have to visit the Slot Canyons in Page whenever I visit Arizona. October is not a good month to try and capture the famous light rays but it is not nearly as crowded as other times. You must be on a tour. I always opt for a photo tour so I can take my tripod in. There was only one other person on the tour with me so it was not as crazy as it can be. This place can be a real zoo with people everywhere and guides yelling at people to get out of the way. It is still an amazing place and well worth a visit if you are in the area. The upper Canyons are much more accessible than the Lower Slot Canyons. The first time I visited this area I went to the lower Canyons and they are amazing. You enter the lower slot canyons via an opening in the ground...you basically slide in and then the only way out is up a very tall ladder at the end. For the upper Slot Canyons you just walk in and walk out.

Info from Randy Dunson (Santa Fe Railway Historical Society Facebook page) identifies the man on the left as Conductor John Riley. Never did get the name of the man on the right. They're getting back onto GP60M-157 which is leading E/B train 991. I don't recall why I didn't get a chance to talk with them. I don't know why they stopped and got off. No other trains passed. The train is sitting in Becker Siding, near MP 881, on the Clovis Sub.
Easy to say William Eggleston is one of my favorite photographers. Saw this little tricycle at a classic car dealership and, with the golden summer light coming in, had to grab it.
Jess bought a blanket while we were on the trip and ended up using it to say warm while I took photos.
It was freezing in the mornings when we went out and it didn't get warm until ~10am. These photos were taken right at 8am.
Sheer boredom, from the current lock down, prompted me to dig up and process old photos, which have remained on my hard disk for years waiting for their time.
No wide angle lens ever felt good enough of this amazing scene at Horse Shoe bend. This was one of my crazy experiments back in 2014, shooting with a Samyang 8mm fisheye on a full frame D800.
223/365 Hmm, not quite sure what I was going for, but a combination of massive amounts of revision, general illness and lack of concentration left me with this. Anyway.
I passed 7,200 stream views today, and I'm almost at 35,000 total views. It makes me happy to think people like my photos :)

Bought some flowers at Lowes the other day to fill in some hanging baskets. Probably not an ideal hanging basket flower, but I couldn't pass up this interesting flower. It seems to be doing well so far.

This is an ORIGINAL Irving Klaw 1950s shot of Bettie, not a recent reprint. In fact I've never seen this one for sale anywhere. All the decor was blacked out, badly, except for a lampshade and the couch.
My friend Spike in New York, who sent me this little treasure, turned me on to Bettie in the late 80s and sends me Bettie Page stuff now and then that a collector friend of his gives him.
I love Bettie Page, but then, who doesn't? I have a couple of other items of her that he sent that are worth scanning and posting here in the future.

I was randomly logged out of facebook today and saw this new login page. I think this is much much cleaner than their older ones It also feels more intuitively task oriented than before. the large empty margin on the bottom was a bit odd, and the buttons didn't render themed in camino, but all in all this is really nice in my opinion.
