⭐️Thank you in Advance for your kind ‘Faves’ Visits and Comments they are so very much appreciated. 👍

I cannot always ‘Thank’ everyone individually, for their Visits and ‘Faves’ however, I will always try to respond and thank all those that leave a ‘Comment’. If I do not reply to your 'Comment', it is not because I am ignoring you, it's because I have not seen the 'Comment'.

Your 'Comments' do not always appear in 'Notifications' or Flickr mail, so, I am sorry for any delay in responding. Often your 'Comment' is only spotted 'On the Page' on the day, that I see it. (seen ONLY when replying to someone HAS 'Commented' on the image, and I see a notification)

Horseshoe Bend Slot Canyon near Page, Arizona. Accessible only by joining an organised tour, this slot canyon isn't as well known as nearby Lower Antelope Canyon. The smaller number of visitors allows for a more pleasant visiting experience.

The Education of a Gardner. Russell Page

In June 2018, the Château de Chenonceau inaugurated a contemporary, walled garden directly inspired by the sketches of Russell Page, one of the greatest contemporary landscape architects.

It is in this beautiful walled garden, formerly a children's playground, that the plans and sketches created by Russell Page for the Menier family will come to life.

To achieve Russell Page's "Ideal Garden," Nicholas Tomlan, the château's botanical director, drew inspiration from reading, research, and visits to gardens designed by Page, particularly in Normandy.

"The Education of a Gardner cannot be, for anyone, academic or theoretical. One must learn about plants, stone, water, and soil, as much with the hands as with the head." (The Education of a Gardner, Russell Page)

This was a 45 minute impulsive drive from home this afternoon and a new discovery for me. Greens legend Bob Brown bought this land to save it from logging and then gave it to the State. I will go back for a longer look soon.

Well, 2024 is ending. Is it with a sense of relief, like Thank Fv%£ for that? Didn't so many of us just struggle to exist through the year. I know we worked very hard through the summer months but gained so much in warmth, happiness in smiles with people from all around the world. And we finished on a high with a large family gathering at Christmas. But the year was mainly a washout in terms of weather. We were grateful for a splash of glorious springlike weather early on and a late hoorah of sunshine in September. But a shadow covered the world thoughout the year, and hangs over us still. The future seems bleak in many ways and yet we are supposed to go into 2025 with hope and optimism: politically, geo-politically, economically, racially and culturally. For me, 2024 will end on a high if our 10 week old granddaughter is able to return her West Highland home from a dash visit to see a paediatrician specialist in hospital, a three hour journey away over what are likely to be snowy mountain roads within the coming hours. I just hope and pray 2025 makes us all, friends and family, happier with a healthy and prosperous New Year

I ask you, how hot can it get?

And as you wipe off beads of sweat

Slowly, you say, I'm not there yet...

2 L trains snake their way through Chicago's River North neighborhood on a summer night.

This view seems somewhat timeless with the train lines and the low slung, older buildings on Chicago's north side. The truth is that this view only revealed itself about 15 years ago when a parking garage and apartment complex were built here. Prior to that this lot had been a surface lot for decades just like its neighbor across the street.

Times change of course and this view is set to disappear quite shortly. Construction has already begun to transform the empty lot you see in the middle of the picture and soon a new building will rise up and conceal most of the train tracks you see here.

While it may slow down from time to time the city never stops evolving. This view will be gone soon but the new office tower promises new photographic possibilities of its own. It's going to be fun to watch this little corner change once again.
