I had just spent a glorious afternoon on the beach with the dogs..no restrictions till the season starts again in the summer.
This is something I'd not seen before!
These seadogs must be so well trained, and I couldn't help wonder if they get board-bored.
He was far off shore when I arrived, turned at the pier, and was still travelling back toward Poole when I left the beach.
Another shot from New Years Eve day at Old Mans. The tide was real low and the water was still a bit funky from all the rain we had been getting.
There were probably less than 10 people out in the water which can be compared to something just short of hell freezing over or havin no traffic on the 91 freeway in Corona during rush hour, it just doesn't happen to often.
Catalina Island is about 30 miles (maybe more?) from where this shot was taken but is clearly visible in the background.
Nice day!
People sought relief from a hot July day by boating, fishing, and picnicking at Black Hill Regional Park.
I think there aren't many better things than a quiet, empty beach. There seems to not be enough of those on the East Coast...it could be my imagination. So, early morning walks with my camera bring me some peace. I took this shot while listening to, "Somebody I Used to Know." www.youtube.com/watch?v=8UVNT4wvIGY

This paddleboarder was just as interested in the planes as I was - taking photos of them while floating out on the lake.
It was a bakingly hot day and I was cooking in my motorbike clothes. No doubt the motley crew of other motorbikers who were stopped up near the cottage of East Cramalt were also feeling the heat.
This paddleboarder had the right idea though, armed with a good book and nothing to do until dinnertime.

Sept 6 2012 - A Search and Rescue Exercise was held with US Coast Guard Sector Honolulu, Maui Fire Department & Ocean Safety and Rescue of Maui County. The exercise focused on a search for a missing paddleboarder off the coast of Sugar Beach, Maui.
Porteau Cove Provincial Park is a 56-hectare oceanfront haven for scuba divers, kayakers, stand-up paddleboarders, beachcombers and those just looking for a place to relax by the shore. It's a little bit of oceanfront paradise just a short drive from downtown Squamish.
By day, the park offers plenty of exploring through its driftwood beaches, tidal and intertidal marine life, sunken ships, artificial reefs, picnic areas and pebble beaches. Climb the stairs on the viewing deck and try to spot seals roaming the waters below or walk down to the sandy beach to go for a swim.
Paddlers can enjoy endless views staring out at Anvil Island. The park is also home to a sunken marine park which is a popular spot for scuba divers to explore.
By night, the area is cloaked under some of the darkest skies in the Sea to Sky Corridor with endless stargazing potential.
Reserve one of the cozy Olympic Cabins or book into one of the 44 drive-in and 16 walk-in campsites. Porteau Cove Campground is open year-round with reduced fees in the winter.
