Sometimes you see a scene that touches your heart and you feel invasive for taking the photo but you want to record the moment. This man with a wheelchair, his son and wife were at San Onofre Beach which is part of Camp Pendleton Marine Base.
I think the part that hurt was seeing the son covering up his legs with sand just as his dad did. And seeing the paddleboarders standing up right out in front of them.
Unfortunately or fortunately, there are quite a few wheelchairs on this particular stretch of beach, just down from the surfers.

What drew us to the Naples Fishing Pier:
"Pelicans are regulars visitors there and you can find them begging for leftovers from the fisherman.
Dolphins, schools of stingrays and fish can also be seen from the pier."

Paddleboarders, Town Lake, Austin (or whatever this body of water is called these days)
On July 26, 2007, the Austin City Council passed a controversial resolution authorizing the renaming of the reservoir from Town Lake to Lady Bird Lake in honor of Lady Bird Johnson, who had died earlier that month.[5] Johnson had declined the honor of having the lake renamed for her while she was alive. In renaming the lake, the City Council recognized Johnson’s dedication to beautifying the lake and her efforts to create a recreational trail system around the lake’s shoreline.
Paddleboarders. Around the other side of the harbor. At least they paddled into the wind first. Now they just need to glide back and not fall in.

Standup paddleboarding (SUP) is a water sport born from surfing with modern roots in Hawaii. Stand up paddleboarders stand on boards that are floating on the water, and use a paddle to propel themselves through the water. The sport was documented in a 2013 report that identified it as the outdoor sporting activity with the most first-time participants in the United States that year. Variations include flat water paddling, racing, surfing, whitewater SUP, yoga, and fishing.
Paddleboarding is usually performed in the open ocean, with the participant paddling and surfing unbroken swells to cross between islands or journey from one coastal area to another.
These giant cruise ships had parked up at Weymouth Bay. With cruises not an option durin 2020, the ships that would normally take thousands of people around the world had to go somewhere. They began arriving in July 2020 and were floating on the outskirts of Weymouth Bay. According to CruiseMapper, the ships onlookers could see are the Britannia, Queen Elizabeth, and Aurora which are operated by P&O and Cunard. Between them, they can house over 9000 guests, not to mention a huge crew. The bay offers plenty of protection from changing weather and is the perfect spot for an extended stay.
The cruise ships are a pretty incredible sight, even from the shore. They break up the otherwise unimpeded skyline in an impressive manner and are a nice change from the tankers and cargo ships occasionally visible from the Weymouth and Portland coast.
The ship on the left is the MS Azura which is a cruise ship operated by P&O Cruises and owned by Carnival plc. The ship was built by Fincantieri at their shipyard in Monfalcone, Italy. She officially entered service with the company in April 2010 and was named by Darcey Bussell.
Azura is the only Grand-class ship to feature a "Duck Tail" stern.
The ship on the right is the Carnival Valor which is a post-Panamax Conquest-class cruise ship operated by Carnival Cruise Line. The vessel was built by Fincantieri at its Monfalcone shipyard in Friuli-Venezia Giulia (northern Italy). She was floated out on March 27, 2004, and christened by American journalist Katie Couric in Miami on December 17, 2004.
The 952-foot vessel can hold up to 1,180 crew members and 2,974 guests. The ship's homeport is New Orleans, Louisiana.
The ship in front of the Carnival Valor THV Galatea which is a lighthouse tender operated by Trinity House, the body responsible for the operation of lighthouses and marine navigation aids around the coasts of England, Wales and the Channel Islands.
THV Galatea was launched in July 2006, replacing the THV Mermaid, in service with Trinity House since 1987. Mermaid was sold to the Gardline group of Great Yarmouth, for conversion to survey vessel. Galatea is a sister vessel to the NLV Pharos. The Queen and Prince Philip visited the Pool of London on 17 October 2007 for the naming of Galatea, moored alongside HMS Belfast.

Boats of all manner gathered Friday evening May 18 at 't Kruswetter in Bolsward, Fryslan, for a twilight circumnavigation (rondvaart) of the old Hanseatic city's canals (grachten). The only proviso: good cheer and boats needed to be low in the water. The "rondvaart" was part of the Ascension Day (Hemelvaart) weekend celebrations culminating with the Cycling Elfstedentocht (ElevenCitiesTour) on Monday May 21.

The Bude Canal was a canal built to serve the hilly hinterland in the Devon and Cornwall border area, chiefly to transport lime-bearing sand for agricultural fertiliser. The Bude Canal system was one of the most unusual in Britain.
It was remarkable in using inclined planes to haul tub boats on wheels to the upper levels. There were only two conventional locks, in the short broad canal section near the sea at Bude itself. It had a total extent of 35 miles (56 km), and it rose from sea level to an altitude of 433 feet (132 m).
The canal opened in 1823 and all except the seaward end closed in 1893. The section from Falcon Bridge to the Sea Lock remains in use and acts as a harbour for Bude. Access to the Sea Locks is only possible at high water.
The Bude Canal & Harbour Society are working to reopen the full lower section of the canal from the foot of the Marhamchurch Incline to the Sea Lock and make it navigable once again. The Rodd's Bridge / Lower Pound Lock has already been restored.

Tropic Honolulu Sunset - Image 1847
A dramatic sunset casts vivid colors across the sky, with the sun dipping below the ocean horizon. Dark, billowing clouds frame the scene, contrasting with the warm glow of the setting sun.

I was intrigued as I watched this group of paddleboarders as they paddled the channel that’s between Lake Calhoun and Lake of the Isles. As they neared the bridge I knew this was the shot I wanted. The bridge created a natural frame on the top and the shadows on the bottom corners created a natural vignette.
Note the two heads sticking out of the water in the upper left corner. They were a couple of black labs that were swimming alongside their owner. Those dogs got a good workout! I’m certain they slept well that night!
I love California: cars and tourists up above the bridge, surfers and paddleboarders down below.

A paddleboarder helped guide swimmers around Naples Island. Here you can see the water streaming off his paddle. Look for the dark shape of a gondola, inflatable buoys that marked the swim course, and waterfront homes blurred in the background.
The Naples Island Swim consists of three swims of varying lengths in Alamitos Bay in Long Beach. The most challenging event is the three-mile swim that circumnavigates Naples Island. Long Beach’s Naples community hosted the event Sunday, August 21, 2022.

September 4, 2022 - Epic Sunset at Alamitos Bay in Long Beach, CA. with some Boats and Paddleboarders!
Went on my regular walk from Southease to Lewes and back some 10 miles there was lots to see and it was a lovely peaceful day and the weather was kind but not too bright loads of wildlife and one or two other images to make.
The bright colours of this bird are always a joy and this one flew past me and landed just for long enough for me to get an image or two.
