Whilst walking the Shropshire hills near Church Stretton my friend and I were accosted by this horseman who asked if we'd seen his fellow riders and pack of hounds. He'd lost them! Although we'd heard them for several minutes we'd not seen them either.

I'm 7 shots into a pack of expired 779 and I've been really unhappy with the colors and contrast. I guess you pay for what you get. I hope the other 9 packs show more promise.

Here's what I am lugging out on the Lost Coast this year. I leave next Friday and I just have a couple of last minute things to add. Coming in at about 40lbs with no water or Vodka. Expect about a 42lb pack by the time I'm done. Not too bad considering the heavy photo equipment and large bear canister.
Missing from photo:
- Bandanna (can't find it, might have to buy one)
- Container that half of that bottle of Vodka will go into.
- Snacks (probably some beef jerky and jolly ranchers)
- Tortillas
- Thermarest Ridgeline 3/4 closed cell foam sleeping pad (forgot to put it in the picture).

Remarks/comments: This seemed so eye-catching to me when I saw it in a 3-pack at Wal-Mart. I've already forgotten what else came with it. I'm not a fan of fender flares, but this one hides it well enough for me from a distance being the same colour as the body.
The Inner Monster Mood Packs arrived this afternoon! Not going to lie, the pink one scares the crap out of me. The blue on is okay without the faceplate. The orange one is the best thing I've ever had! I love everything about the orange one!
Olympus twin pack! Well, I think a second Olympus did turn up a little later on, but a message on a Dennis Eagle refuse lorry aligns with a PC Coaches Optare Olympus at Lincoln bus station on 12.6.24
Sometime within the past couple of years the NO OVERNIGHT PARKING signs appeared at the entrance of the bus station, which makes me wonder what happened that required them to be put up...
Pack Lane is a 2.7 mile (4.3 km) long unclassified road that runs east/west connecting Kempshott in Basingstoke with Oakley. It connects with the B3400, Andover Road at Oakley at the western end and connects with Winchester Road at Kempshott at the Eastern end. However in 1975 when this picture was taken there was a 100 yard (90 m) perminent obstruction at that end so it connected with Buckland Avenue on the Berg Estate.
The road has three distinct sections: the eastern section between Winchester Road and Five Ways (now a Four Ways as Kempshott Lane has been severed at the Kite Hill section) is suburban; the middle section, seen here and known a Battledown is semi rural; and the western section in between Fox Lane and Andover Road in Oakley is suburban again.
Unusually the field on the left is one of the only places left inside the Basingstoke boundary that is still agricultural. However this what used the be a triangular field has since had a small housing estate built in the northern corner.
The large buildings in the distance are the South Ham Extension Maisonette which have since been demolished.
So we got tired of waiting for our dark bley parts. Got plenty of tan. Austin wanted to go British for a day. So here is our quick after-school rendition of a Chevrolet 30cwt 4x2. Wish we had different wheels. I did not realize how big this thing was. A full meter longer than a Pzr III, and as wide as a Pzr IV.

The old pack had to be put down, there is now a new, very small, pack of 2 wolves. I sure hope to see more of them this year. Such magnificent animals

We are working on it. Not everyone wants to stay. Soon, we will be able to pose & make a very pretty picture.
With ordinary cub packs, before you became a full member you might be allowed to go to a few meetings and trips in your ordinary clothes, if you liked the cubs, then your parents would then have to buy a full uniform. How the boy in the wellingtons has managed to get hold of a cap with one star is not known, he might have borrowed it from the boy at the very front.
With the 7th Harpenden, we were a slightly different pack, we were all members of a children's home. Going to cubs was almost compulsory, you got your uniform at the start. They were never new, most having seen at least one cub before it was given to you, if it became outgrown, you simply exchanged it for a larger size.
The uniforms were not really tatty, but all the award badges and stripes were removed be for you got it, so it could vary in colour due to fading. Some of the uniforms were of an older design, the taller ones of us were even given parts of scout uniforms to wear, I acquired a scout shirt and shorts plus a prized scout belt that did give a slight advantage to me over the other cubs.
In 1966 we attended a county rally to celebrate 50 years of the Cubs. All the local packs were there, we stood out amongst them, with some very outdated parts to the uniform.
If we were ever out of uniform, it was often down to getting our uniforms dirty or wet.
