A funny thing happened to us on Sunday. I wanted to show my parents a nice alpine lake in some big mountains with a short and relatively easy hike. We packed the car and headed up north for Harrison Lake in the Selkirks north of Sandpoint. After almost 4 hours of driving, we get within seven miles of the trailhead to find that it has been closed due to problematic bear activity. So, we hung out for a bit along the Pack River where the road crosses at a bridge. Eventually, I suggested we go to Roman Nose Lakes instead, and according to the GPS, there was a nice forest service road to take us over the ridge to the lakes. We get several miles in and discover a nice little pond on one of the creeks with a very nice campsite next to it. But just beyond, the road becomes impassible to my Subaru. A larger 4-wheel drive vehicle might have been just fine, but the road looks like it becomes an ATV trail. With two plans foiled, we hung out at the pond for a bit before deciding to head down to Sandpoint for dinner. However, at 4000 feet, the huckleberries were in season and more than abundant. It seems this road is not traveled very much. The huckleberries were also larger than any I'd seen before. Some of the berries were the size of blueberries. We spent and hour or so picking and ended up with almost a full gallon to bring home. So, although I didn't get to hike, I'm looking forward to some blueberry crumb cake.

The pieces I got are apparently the Galaxy Enforcer Armor and Helmet with the Riot Shield, "French Assault Rifle" and "Skewer SMG" in the Wave 1 pack and the Android Armor and Head, "Vengeance AR", "Deadly Cricket" and "Austrian Bull Pup" in the Wave 2 pack.

BURRAS WIN THE BILL MALONE CUP

Hepburn defeated Daylesford by 55 points at the Laurie Sullivan Reserve on Saturday, and in doing so secured the inaugural Bill Malone Cup. As is always the case when these two teams meet, the competition is fierce, and the crowd is hanging from the rafters, Saturday was no exception.
It was Daylesford who hit the ground running early and, had shot out to a 4 goal lead before Hepburn even looked like troubling the visiting side. Andy McKay’s skill and uncanny goal sense came to the fore keeping the Burras in the hunt during the first quarter.
As the game unfolded, the new look Hepburn outfit started to gel, with the bigger bodies of Billy Barnes, Jarryd King and Anthony Baker starting to work themselves into the game. This trio should become an asset during the year, allowing the likes of Dan O’Halloran, new comer Daniel Rees and the James brothers to play their natural games. Trevor Johnson was becoming a huge stumbling block every time Daylesford pushed forward. The newly crowned Bill Malone medallist took some telling marks as well as setting up numerous scoring opportunities.
The beauty of the win possibly would have been that the goal scoring wasn’t left to the duo of McKay and Lee Cox. Regular full back Brendan Shepherd set the crowd alight with his four goals, and Barnes chipped in with three vital goals as well.
The return of Nick Walsh was also a good one, throwing his body into contests and dishing out handballs to his fleet footed team mates.
Club legend Matthew Brown’s number 21 made a comeback to senior football as its new owner Liam O’Halloran made his senior debut. The taller of the clan, young Liam found the ball often enough to suggest he will be a player to watch in years to come.
Now with the opening round out of the way, Hepburn is on the road this Saturday to tackle Dunnstown.

An excellent start to the 2010 season by our Baby Burras
All looks good for a fine season ahead, with skills at a very high standard in wet and slippery conditions. Every player in the side was playing well and coach Lindsay Olver used all of his bench allowing his players to have even game time.
Things started well with Bryce Coffey kicking excellent goals in the first quarter. Against good opposition the Baby Burras continued to move the ball in fine style,which resulted in a running goal to Hayden Rodgers. When Bill Pedretti took a mark in the goal square and raised his arms to celebrate all was well. Bill kicked true and the score was 4 goals to no score.
The Baby Burras continued to show their fine work rate for the remainder of the game.
Better players on the day included Hayden Rodgers, Bryce Coffey, Ned Johns, Adam Raak, Eamonn Clarke, Jordan Grant, Harrison Nevil, Wil Hughes and Alister Ferrier .

Derby RTC was full of various locos on 17/01/19, including the TRU 950001, 73138, 20007 and 20205. A lucky visit to the RTC and Litchurch Lane, after I saw these and 10 (yes, TEN) class 20s dotted around…Derby is blessed for ‘Choppers’ currently!
After Excalibur is deployed the flight pack can return to base on its own or support the mech on the battlefield.
Flight Pack added. Can be equipped with missiles and Excalibur's weapons: sniper rifle and SMGs. The flight pack also features moveable flaps.
Lambda Driver feature upgraded to be more sleek and compact. Based on Full Metal Panic (Allows the mech to turn the pilots thoughts into reality). The lambda driver can deploy without any part swapping via hinge pieces.
Minor adjustments to the whole mecha.
Weapon storage on the lower back.

Pet Fusion bowls sit in an acrylic stand to elevate the food. To four inches depending on the bowl depth. My doxie gets the deep bowl but the Cairns with their shorter flatter muzzles get the shallow “cat” bowls. I discovered they love THE ONE powdered vitamin supplement and put a small scoop of it on their morning meal. This morning i am adding boiled chicken to it. Some thawed in the fridge overnight, and it is almost done cooking. The water in which it was boiled I save for the next mushroom onion soup. Not by any means as rich as proper stock, but better than plain water. Soups are fun. Definitely not a hand food.
I want to mention something I like about the Pet Fusion bowls. The round metal dots on the sides of the bowls are magnets inset. One bowl attaches to another, a great help when feeding more than TWO dogs. Presenting the food all at one time is much better when you have an eager eater. There is usually ONE in every family. So I present the two bowls for Dolly and Bella, in my left hand, and Duffy's in the right. He is the most patient. I must now and then tell him, EAT IT OKAY??? Because he is always suspicious that somewhere in that food I've tucked a NASTY TASTING PILL. Sigh....I mean, I only do it once in a while! But he is after all SCOTS.
