The Towanda Public Library building was a gift to the town from Frank Welles, who also gave Wyalusing funds to build that town's library.
Welles only spent his teenage years in Towanda but his grandfather built what is now the second oldest house in town which is out of frame to the right of the library. Frank Welles was a bigwig with Western Electric and spent a lot of time in Europe, which is where he likely came up with the idea of a Flemish Renaissance Revival library. The architect was Henry Otis Chapman, a native of Otisville (Otisville!), New York who designed many churches and civic buildings but who never visited Towanda.
PA_003 [10 points]
PA_02 en PA_03 were the first two space invaders made after the PA_01 which is made in 01/05/1996. The original has been deleted a long time ago but is part of the re-activation wave in 2016 and 'socially secured' due to the presence of a terrace next to the hotel where it is located. Sorry for the bad quality and light conditions. And the original was long gone before I started my space invader hunt in 2004 and 2005.
