The Kitchen in Alhmabra has some delicious food. Bike parking is not one of the restaurant's (nor the City of San Gabriel's) strong suits.

I have no idea what this says, but the food was good!

James Rojas, MTA planner, leader of the Latino Urban Forum, and a vociferous advocate for the great lost causes in American urban and transportation planning, built a not-to-scale model of the L.A. basin. A little glue, some plastic animals, and glitter ... West L.A. could become the most glamorous zoo in the world. Some might argue it already is.

Flying Pigeon LA kicked in two of our bicycles, a PA-02 and a PB-13, to serve as "Bicycles of the Future". The PA-02 was decked out with some super sweet, durable, and attractive Clarjis panniers (from Holland) and a bamboo trailer put together by DJ Chicken Leather and Blackwoman Sidekick. I think the DJ's speaker adds a certain sumpin' sumpin' to the bike. For what kind of future would it be without music?

This ad was slapped together and emailed over to the Pasadena Weekly for a just-before-Christmas issue published on December 17, 2009. The ad actually worked (much to our surprise) and brought in some customers to the Flying Pigeon LA bike shop. These folks ended up buying dutch bikes, Bobike baby seats, panniers from Basil, and other stuff that we specialize in from Holland. So rad. They were definitely stoked on their new bikes, bags and baby carriers, and we were (of course) happy to sell it to them!

To get the bikes from our shop to the SiteLA location, the bikes got a chauffeured ride atop a Yakima bike rack. It would have been a nice ride from the Flying Pigeon LA shop (located at 5711 N. Figueroa St., Los Angeles, CA 90042) to the SiteLA space - but everyone was running around getting ready for the show and didn't have time for a solid 40 minute ride between the two places.

Our first "customer" of the day. Most of the plants at our park were transported to the site via bicycle. Just another day at the Flying Pigeon bike shop!

Spotted at the corner of 11th and Hope in Downtown Los Angeles. According to the local chisme, this bike shuttles a beauty queen to and from the office.
