Spiral Galaxy NGC 2403 in Camelopardis. This is a little west of the Bode's Nebula in the Big Dipper. Need to come back to this one - it's beautiful and I think more time will bring out the spiral arms which got clipped out when I removed a light-pollution gradient.

I like the stars here, I may have overprocessed earlier images a bit. I backed off a bit this time and noticed that the spiral arms are visible as dim streaks...Definitely coming back for another run at this!

Unfortunate mistake. Farmers' Market Ogden Utah Aug 27, 2022. I shot thison a great day - Kodacolor 400 from 1983. I shot it at EI 200 and then, mistakenly, thought I should adjust again in development and added 20 seconds ... ? The roll was extremely overdeveloped which was extremely disappointing because of the great shots. The negatives were impenetrable. Since I did bleach bypass I went back and washed the film, bleached with potassium ferricyanide for 8 minutes and then fixed again for 8 minutes. The negative came out much clearer, but as you can see with MUCH loss of detail and extremely flat. If my life was at stake, I guess we could say it worked, but most of the interesting stuff is gone.

However after seeing these results and some others, both mine and other folks' I think I'm arriving at with expired color film - adjust the light and compensate for age, etc. And then develop normally. We'll see what I do next.

Built 1908 by the American Bridge Co. Using an unusual double-intersection Warren deck truss swing span. ( I looked it up) The rust and peeling paint give this bridge a "natural" overprocessed HDR look.

It's always fun to just keep messing with a photo until I have some off-the-wall result. This was one of those. :P Here's an amusing story to go along with it:

Haven't slept well for a few nights, so I decided to lay down and take a little nap this evening. I forgot to set the clock before I got in the bed, so that I wouldn't sleep all evening and night. I just wanted to take a short nap. The ringing of the phone woke me up, and I was in a state of delirium when I answered it.

My sister had called to tell me something or another. I was trying to get my eyes peeled open and clear the fog from my head (had apparently been napping soundly). When I glanced at my bedroom window, the light from the sun hitting my blinds looked like it does here early in the mornings. I nonchalantly asked her what she was doing out so early. Then, after saying that out loud, I looked at the clock to see how early it really was. My expectation, judging by the light outside, was for it to be around 6 or 6:30 AM. The clock said 8:41.

Still half asleep (or still mostly asleep), I started panicking- was even on the verge of crying. I thought for sure that I'd overslept and my kids had missed the school bus. Since I have no car now, I immediately began trying to figure out what I was going to do and how I was going to get them to school. A full range of emotions flooded me at once- guilt for oversleeping, worry that I couldn't find a ride for the kids, panic because of the overall situation, aggravation because there was one more thing that had went wrong, etc.

My sis heard the change of tone in my voice, asked me what was wrong and I told her. She busted out laughing. I said, "What's so funny?" Here I am, freaking out and she's laughing at me. It almost made me mad. (Keep in mind that her call had just woke me from a sound sleep, and this all happened in a matter of a minute or so.)

After she got her laughter back down to a somewhat normal level, that's when she told me that it was still evening time, not morning- that my kids hadn't missed the bus and that I could stop worrying. Still not fully awake, it took me a few seconds to process what she said. Then, when I realized she was right, I busted out into laughter, too. At that very moment, I felt like the biggest dumbass on the face of the Earth. That little turn of events managed to wake me right up, though. LOL

My mother has been working in our garden whilst my parents are staying with us and she left us these roses from the garden in the kitchen. They're very pretty and contrast nicely with the bare rendered wall behind them.

New bedroom = new duvet sets - I bought two, both in white with embroidered squares of colour. Highly practical when we live in a building site : D

I sometimes tend to over-process.

A walk in the quarry, suc h a beautiful place.

just a really over processed shot that i took last night since i was at work really late and i was trying to keep myself entertained so that i didn't fall asleep. this one was taken right before jake leapt on the ottoman and knocked all of the pieces helter skelter.

Somewhat overprocessed to exaggerate the hair

I actually hated how overprocessed this was...but that is how the heart became visible, so I'm keeping it jaggedy and I shall photograph this dilapidated house again some other time.

high dynamic range - overprocessed?

Feeling in a cliché kind of mood tonight...

An over-processed HDR, made with 3 exposures. basically pushed it to the limits and thought the effect was interesting and verging on cool. What do you think?

overprocessed, but...yeah... By inspiration of Cathy...I redid it!! (: AND to let you know, I got WAY down on the groud to shoot this at this angle! (:

AND thanks to TXCanonGrl, I found out the name of this little flower...Mexican Hat!! The things you learn on Flickr!! (:

While your at it...you might as well check out the two ladies' photostreams mentioned above...they're both very talented (:

Bit overprocessed, but I kinda like it that way

Definition: Hipster

Yet another clique for people who can't develop an identity of their own.

Why did the hipster have a burnt tongue? Because she drank his tea before it was cool.

I haven't uploaded for a while so I decided to upload this.

I sort of feel like a hypocrite because I normally dress like this and like indie music... But I still like pop so its okay. Right? RIGHT?!?!

I'm a borderline hipster :o :o :o

XD Shame...

Oh well. I'm off to pretend I'm unique. And probably call random things ironic.

Oh fads... smh

I experimented, again, I'm not at all sure, these might be quite overprocessed ... Well, failure is part of photography.

week 32? seriously? time flies... but the creativity is running low for these once weekly shots. praise be to those of you who can manage a 365!

had the camera out-- just snapping away-- on the couch in front me as i lounged about before going to bed saturday night/ sunday AM. my parents kept the little one so the hubby and i went out on a date! we went to see "love and honor" ('bushi no ichibun) - a japanese foreign language film- and then to a late dinner at Lucio's (next to gravitas). i recommend both the movie and the restaurant!

i didnt like any of the photos that i took... but started playing with the processing and ended up being ok with this one. :)

stupidly overprocessed, but i dont care.

This is the only shot I really did much post-processing with. The girlfriend was concerned it was *too* high-res, so I needed to soften it a little, so I turned to Color Efex Pro to do it for me. Hopefully it doesn't look overprocessed. Post-processing is one area I'm really weak in.

quack? a little boy around 2 came up to me pointing at the ducks and quacking. i wanted to take photos of him, but didn't wan to seem creepy asking his parents. he would've been perfect.

Volviendo a la serie "MITADES" (por subir algo)

Back to the "MITADES" series (to upload something)

(this one was taken indoors and with an awful light... you can see that horrible shadow... but anyway... it wasn't that bad... I didn't want this series overprocessed, that's why I didn't remove the shadow ;)

(esta fue tomada en interior y con una luz horrible... ahí podéis ver la sombra... de todas maneras... no está tan mal.. no he querido retocar demasiado las fotos de esta serie, por eso no he quitado la sombra ;)

The hot weather and high winds brought down all the pine cones in the 'Botans' yesterday, and couldn't help myself seeing all the cones scattered about!

HRD Image of Pikes Peak from CO 94. Traffic was a little heavier then I would have liked (note the various cars combined in the image going down the road). And yes I know it is way overprocessed, but I was kind of having some fun with PS.

From Wikipedia

Portchester Castle is a medieval castle and former Roman fort at Portchester to the east of Fareham, occupying a commanding position at the head of Portsmouth Harbour. The castle is a Scheduled Ancient Monument and a Grade I listed building. The castle has been in the ownership of the Southwick Estate since the 17th century but is managed by English Heritage and open to visitors throughout the year. It is the only Roman fort in northern Europe with the majority of the walls and bastions complete and still standing.

The Norman church, St. Mary's, which stands in the south-east corner of the grounds, falls within the Anglican Diocese of Portsmouth.
