114/365. "The journey in between what you once were and who you are now becoming is where the dance of life really takes place." Got a little crazy with the post on this one!

I grabbed this photo while driving across the Matheson Avenue Bridge. One day I'll have enough time to park and walk the bridge for a better photo, without the chainlink fence.

..the clouds are little bit overprocessed and also the whole image is, but i like it that way

NAIST in Nara. Not bad, exactly, but a little boring, kind of flat picture, so perfect for some serious overprocessing.

Um yes. Far too processed :|

It's my little digital camera im holding.. too much processing made it not really visable. Haha.

We went to the woods, took a lot of pictures as i do. And have of them came out in NEF file instead of JPEG. Because i was fiddling about with RAW. My bad. So half the files aren't usable untill i figure out how to work this parade. :(

Raw's great and all, but too hard to work.

Plus, it rained really heavy, so we took shelter under the trees, all fun untill a massive ass spider came crawling infront of me on his web! I screamed and im pretty sure the whole of my town heard. Kathryn thought this was funny. I did not. Im petrified of spiders!

We are making buns tomorrow but. Yay :)

looking overprocessed but I couldnt see that on the phone screen

Okanagan Autocross

This was a fun edit. I am learning photoshop so this tutorial had me cut out the car and blur the background and add the car back in. I processed both layers separately and then touched the image up back in lightroom.

#Raphadramatic snaps from the Leicester Forest Cycling Club's annual road race in September 2014.

Please don't pinch my pictures. If you'd like to use them, then let me know. I probably won't charge, but it's nice to be nice, right?

Finally got round to processing shots from the last couple of weeks. Not 100% happy with the job I did on this one, but it'll do for now. I love the mist on Frensham common in the middle, would've made a great time-lapse but I only got 28 frames of it. Tweaked in Lightroom (damn, why did I download that RC version of Lightroom? It's just too good, I'm going to have to buy the real thing now!!) and stacked, straightened and cropped with GIMP.

Canadian style! nice and warm....

The Daily Shoot

Today’s Daily Shoot assignment is:

Find something beautiful and make a photo. Don't over think it.

Get out there, take a photograph, upload it, and tweet a link to @dailyshoot with the hashtag: #ds616

I haven't shot my car in a long time. It's in desperate need of a good detailing.

armed with a small plant sprayer i decided to spray some water onto this apple and the surroundings for some intresting detail.

it was taken just before the cloud was breaking out, exactly what i was waiting for.. not too much.. not too little:)

I've replaced this photo with this overprocessed version...guess i'm over processing it in my head as well. in 411 operator's photo you can see our big leaf maple in the background.

George wanted to meet the Zeus tonight. It went rather well - George didn't get eaten. Had a heck of time getting a shot though. Low light was making for slow shutter speed and the Zeus isn't good at holding still. He couldn't figure out why I wanted him to put his nose on the counter... in the end I had to take a really blurry shot and process the heck out of it to get this... This was exactly what I had pictured, but in better focuse.. lol

The sky had some very active clouds last night. This camera is doing a a great job with the shadow detail. This is HDR, but I am trying to keep it as realistic as possible while trying to bring out details that are very intense. Every photo is a different one. And has to be approached differently.

...a little more believable when viewed small.

i was just playing around with sliders and stuff. it was fun...but i don't love the picture or find it at all realistic. i guess i like the grass.

oh...this is our house in CT. i processed it loads.

Probably a bit over-processed, but I love the blue tone. HSS!

A simple slide this evening - a White Water Lily (Nymphaea alba) on the pond.

HSS all : )

This is the second time that I've tried the Flame and Horsehead Nebulae. Its the first image with my modified D5100. I tried to show more of the faint gas and probably overprocessed it a bit. However, I got the image I wanted and probably won't change it.

Consists of 18 images of 10 minutes each. Taken with my modified D5100 and 120mm Ed scope. Processed in StarTools.

This image contains a number of interesting features. The brightest star in the top left is Alnitak, the left side star in Orion's belt. Just under that star is an area of glowing hydrogen in the shape of a burning bush. Its called the Flame Nebula or NGC 2024.

The largest nebula in this image is the red emission nebula IC434, appearing as a waterfall of ionized hydrogen coming from the top of the image. An intervening cloud of interstellar dust, in the shape of a horse's head, is the famous Horsehead Nebula or B33.

Between the Flame and Horsehead is the smaller blue reflection nebula, NGC 2023, caused by a cloud of fine dust reflecting the light of the central star.

I've taken some of the above description of the image from Ruben Kier's 100 Best Astrophotography Targets.

I didn't bracket this one well and it suffers from the dreaded HDR halo thingy. You can see the foothills of the Cascades and on the left you see snow...yep, snow. It's there year round.
