just goofing with Photoshop...reminds me of a 70's B horror movie VCR cover
The evening lights and the view was supernatural in Erice. This place is sacral, legend has it that Daedalos has landed here... Ikarus has never made it to this view though :) There was a temple on this cliff for hundreds of years.. I've forgotten when was it ruined, anyway, this is a meanful spot. The overprocessing is only half way where I wanted to go with this image, so don't complain about the missing colors on the bottom please.
All of these were taken with the new Nokia 3310 and its 2MP camera, with external Wide-Angle and Macro lenses and processed with Photoshop Lightroom.
For Sliders Sunday! I Absolutely cant stand CGI, AI, or overprocessed masquerading as straight photography. But this group is ALL ABOUT just that! No Secrets! I'm glad I found it!

I was looking for some printer ink when I came across my old Ray-Ban Wayfarers from my high school days back in the mid-80's. I admit to overprocessing the photo for the retro look, but it's just too much fun. Like the 80's!
I asked my 15-year old if he wanted them, but he said they weighed a ton. :) He is amazed that Wayfarers are so expensive.. even back then they cost $115. Today these cost $150.
This is Don. He is the owner of the bowling alley where we took my daughter and her friends for her birthday party. When he saw my daughter he immediately guessed her shoe size and he was bang on. I told him I was impressed and he told me that that was one of the perks of owning a bowling alley for 30 years.
He is part of my 100 strangers project. Find out more about the project and see pictures taken by other photographers at www.100Strangers.com
Yes, I think this shot is overprocessed to death. Problem was, I had my settings set up for a different shot and forgot to change them. Plus, there was major backlighting and Don was just on his way out when I caught the shot. His eyes were just black pools in the SOOC shot. I felt I had to process to at least get some of the gentleness of his face.
When taking a short drink break during a game of fetch, The Grimm puts her toy right in the water dish where she can keep a close eye on it. If she just put it to the side Jonah might suddenly take an interest for the first time in 5 years and steal it away. Silly girl.

Crow challenges the Red Kite. It's way overprocessed and enlarged as they were distant and pretty much silhouetted, but the pose made it worth the effort!
Not sure if brightness and contrast levels are right. With my CRT monitor at home showing them all wrong I am never sure about brightness until I see images at work or print them.

Went back to Eden for the 4th time these last 2 weeks to see the whole thing completely demolished. While I was shooting I actually bumped into another photographer that was part of the last graduating class. 1989 was the last year this place ran before shutting the doors.
One of the last major pieces of this building that still remains are the front stairs to the former school. I was perched on top of them for this shot.
You can check out my friend GORE84's photostream for a picture of the front stairs before they were alone .....
This is Dayeon (I hope that's spelled right) and she is from Korea. I was wandering around aimlessly, not particularly looking for someone to photograph, when I saw her sitting for a caricature portrait, her friend waiting next to her. I stopped to watch for a few moments and in that time the drawing was finished and handed over to Dayeon who burst out laughing when she saw it. I thought it was really cute, and I also liked her brightly coloured coat that stood out from afar and was the reason I noticed her in the first place.
I have been sitting on this photo for about two weeks now... I wasn't sure if I should post it or not, because I don't think it turned out that well. The background, which at the time I had thought would look nice and colourful, is actually distracting, and I'm not happy with the framing either (this is a cropped version, the original is even worse). And what is flickr doing with oversharpening photos?! Dayeon, if you're reading this - it's not your fault at all! It was just quite rushed. I tried to spice it up with some editing but in the end I didn't want an overprocessed look either so I stuck with some basic tweaks.
Still, despite these issues I have decided that this project is not about amazing photos, it's a learning curve and when I look back I will be more proud of the good photos if there are some not so good ones in the set. And it's also a nice memory of a random encounter with a nice person.

Built 1908 by the American Bridge Co. Using an unusual double-intersection Warren deck truss swing span. ( I looked it up) The rust and peeling paint give this bridge a "natural" overprocessed HDR look.
Forgot to adjust the camera before shooting with off camera flash.
It was a bit overexposed so I just went with it in lightroom.
Errrrr, not sure, may have overprocessed it. I liked the original with the long exposure, makes the waves look cool.
Press L, it looks better.

Quality on this one isn't all that great, but that's what I get for being in a bar at 10 till midnight and realizing that I don't have a shot for the day. :)

One of our favorite style icons is giving us major hair inspiration. Jennifer Lawrence has changed up her hair yet again and added bangs!
The 26-year-old was recently spotted rocking some chic, blunt bangs on the set of her upcoming film “Red Sparrow.”
While the new ‘do is likely for her role as a Russian spy in the film, we aren’t sure if it’s wig or an actual chop. She looks so fabulous that we’re hoping this fringe is here to stay.
Lawrence is no stranger to changing up her ‘do. From bobs to pixies to even different types of bangs, she’s tried it all.
While the actress has been a blonde for most of her career, in May 2016, she stepped out with platinum locks that created instant summer hair color inspiration.
This flirty bob looks inspired by flapper girls in the ’20s.
This haircut was the result of her grown-out pixie — but the slicked-back style really works for her.
She made the chop into a pixie in 2013 after explaining that her hair was fried from being overprocessed.
Months before making the big cut, Lawrence had cascading, light brown tresses, which made it even more shocking when she went for such a drastic and dramatic look.
But that wasn’t the darkest hair color she’s had. In 2012, she had chestnut brown locks and a completely different look.
And then there was the period in 2012 when she had blunt bangs and strawberry blond hair.
Before that, in 2010 when her career was just beginning to kick off, she really looked like the girl next door with these soft curls.
Short or long, dark or blonde, bangs or no bangs, it seems like Lawrence can rock any hairstyle.
What will she try next?

Another shot from my scout-the-place-pout visit to Bristol Blake State Reservation this afternoon on my way home. Didn't like this one quite as much as my selection for the day, but the technique and processing are pretty much the same as the other shot. I tried a little processing beyond this, to soften the shot a bit, but I think that edged too far into overprocessed.

Just messing around with a whole lot of processing. It's a fair shot. A little off with the composition. Again, just playing a lot here.

4 hours of clone stamping, blending, and masking to clean up the camera and tripod in this 3 exposure Tone Map...HDR should be subtle not overbearing, no one seriously appreciates the cooked surreality of a missused Art Button. I believe HDR should be used to improve the limitations of a digital sensor or maintain the lost DMAX in film scans, but also used to see for ourselves what overprocessing looks like.

Keen to get better at shooting in extreme light without the colours washing out, whites overexposing and needing to really overprocess to come out with something I think looks acceptable.
Investing in a lens hood probably isn't a bad idea either...
The "Justus Van Effen Complex" by architect Michiel Brinkman, build in 1922 in Rotterdam Spangen. The complex is waiting for renovation... (handheld HDR from 3 RAW's)
One of my very first good looking images. This took (as I said) my first hard time on Lightroom so that this can feels overprocessed. Anyway I still like the mood I got to represent.
Babylights aka very fine highlights. This was handpainted Balayaged Babylights creating soft diffusion of color mimicking the natural effects of the sun. Box Color left Hair Dull and over processed, By adding Babylights We changed the tone of the color adding warmth and creating dimension. Because the hair had been overprocessed we used Olaplex in every step, from lifting to color to toning this kept cuticle smooth allowing this gorgeous shine. Her layers were reshaped and given maimum volume and movements
